Default What can you tell me about buffalo leather?
Does it usually cost more ?
Is it lighter than Darwin ?

I've heard it is harder wearing and I know the Bays is lined but that's about it.

Can you help me out ladies ?

Any recommendations or warnings ?

TIA

I hava Dillon messenger in Buffalo, but I really cannot compare the weight with my darwin bags, as they are totally different bags. Buffalo looks nice though! Hope the pics give you an idea.

It's strong, has beautiful sheen, no worry about rain (still supposed to spray though). Love baffalo leather! I nearly bought Indigo Henley in baffalo but missed - now waiting patiently blue baffalo small Alexa!!

Now what's in your mind LtdEd!??

Thanks Lim ed! I do not think that many different bags were made in buffalo, do you know which ones ratrat? I know Smithfield was also made in buffalo.

My fuchsia Bays and small purple make-up bag are both made of buffalo leather and I love them! The leather is very robust, doesn't mark easily and comes with a lovely sheen which gets better with age. I do have rain spots on my Bays but that's due to poor positioning with my umbrella (think big fat drops straight onto Bays without me noticing! ), not lack of Collonil.

What colour are you going for? My fuchsia has lost its blue pigment and has now turned quite orange-y.

How heavy is it compared to the other bays ? Is there much difference ?
I've spied the black buffalo on lovehandbags. btw.

^^I'd say the buffalo is a bit lighter but not much in it to be honest - hard to say as the buffalo Bays is lined but regular Bays isn't.

^^No problem. Sadly my fuchsia Bays is no longer that colour - it's gone a bit orange-y. It looks nice in natural light but a bit odd in fluorescent light.

My little unsprayed Teal Antony in Buffalo was almost drowned on holiday in a freak storm during her first week of life. She was soaked through covering 75% of her body and left for dead. A plunge into a sink of water and left to dry out was a kill or cure method of revival .
She now lives quietly in West Berkshire none the worse for wear - a true survivor and a credit to Mulberry .
