Do you spray the inside of your bags? I hate the little scuff marks on the raw leather and was curious if the Collonil would stop these from starting.

I've tried not being a slob and it just isn't happening>

Default Jody bag

I hope I got the picture of the inside of the Jody bag here. My daughter is a bit better with computers and helped me. The link gives a bigger image. Please take a look. What do you think Chaz, Kroquet and JazzyJay and...??

Chaz, i read somewhere in the old forums that you have a oak hanover. Was just wondering if you also found that you have to baby this bag and if there is anything we can use to protect the havana leather. I absolutely love love love my oak hanover but everytime I take it out I seem to get marks on it even though I am SOOO careful!! What has your experience with your been?
Thankooo!

^^^^^^^^ To be honest,I sprayed it with Collinil, and then just carried on chucking it about.I did baby it a bit at first, and it does mark but the marks blend in and kind of add to the look of the bag.As it goes a lil bit darker they don't show as much, but it does say on the care card that it will mark, its a characteristic of the leather but it does start to get a patina and look really nicely aged!!

I hadnt imagined that this would darken the way the darwin/natural leather does!!

Chaz, how long have u had your hanover and how much has the havana leather darkened over time and is this similar to the amount the oak darwin darkens? lol

Thanks!

PS does it still look just as yummy?

Yeh,as its quite a pale oak,it will darken just from using it.I don't think it will go as dark or rich in color as oak darwin.Having said that,I colliniled it to death,I did'nt at first(very unlike me!)and it got wet on the bottom, and left a small rainmark,it took ages to fade, and as soon as it did,I drowned it with spray!! And now its getting a nice soft gloss, and it does'nt seem quite as prone to marking.
Its definately not as pale as when I first got it,had it for about 8 months now I think? And its still paler than my Elgin, and I have been using it loads, more than some of my others as it is so very easy to wear.I knew it would darken eventually,so I just sprayed it,and it did seem to darken a bit after that, but better that than rain damage you can sometimes never get rid of.
It still looks fabulous, and its getting a lovely vintage look to it.I have just taken a pic of them together,I'll upload it and post it on so you can see.xx

Looking at them here on screen, the colors are pretty true to life, and you can see the Hanover is still much paler than the Elgin which is darwin, and even though the Hanover is younger,I really don't think it will ever go as dark as the Elgin, the leathers are too different if you get me??
