Default U.S. Online Sources for Mulberry?
Does anyone know of any good online sources for Mulberrys in the U.S.? I'd rather not buy overseas and pay the U.S. customs, the high shipping, the British duties and taxes, plus the "foreign currency translation" fee on my credit card. (All charges I'd have to foot if I bought from Mulberry.com.)

I know that Bloomingdales.com carries some bags. And every so often a bag pops up on Net-a-Porter.

Are there any other sources?

Would really rather deal with an authorized retailer than buy something questionable off ebay.

I just ordered a bag and got charged 9% customs and $20 delivery, but no US sales tax. The customs is a bit more than sales tax but it works out almost the same. And $20 for delivery is pretty good. It got here from the UK on Wednesday afternoon - I ordered it very late Sunday night.

Also, they charge in USD if you order from the US version of Mulberry.com.

Bloomingdales is a good source, but limited in their inventory. They do have sales now and then. The Gorsuch catalog as well, but again, very limited in styles. If you call a shop in the US, they will ship to you, and they're quite helpful over the phone. I'm certain that you won't be charged tax either, just shipping. Good luck!!!

Here are a few others that have limited inventory:

ShopBop.com
lagarconne.com
shopjake.com

stylebop.com is a German site, but it says that all prices include duties. Not sure about the foreign transaction fee.

Thanks everyone for all the great suggestions!

Pixargirl, were you charged a customs fee by the US Postal when your bag arrived?

I tried to order from Mulberry.com but it calculated a "sales tax and duties" fee of about 9 percent. Somewhere on TPF I read that one must also pay in addition to that the US Postal customs fee when the bag arrives, which can be another $100 depending upon the bag price.

Could you call the US stores & ask if they perhaps do mail order, like the UK stores do?

I ordered a bag from Mulberry in 2007 before the US site - at that time I was charged customs on a separate UPS bill in addition to delivery fees of 28 GBP.

The bag I just ordered from the US site had the 9% customs built into the shipping price. No separate customs bill. And a 20 USD delivery fee.

The best is to order from Net-a-porter. No customs fees, sometimes free shipping and unless you live in the state it's located in, no taxes!

You can call a US store and do a charge and send. I like the NY store. They have always been very helpful.
