Sorry, you did not like it SJ. But wise to send it back if you do not love it right away!

Oh dear so sorry to read the second verdict - are you determined to get 'messenger'?? If you don't have urgent need for it why not wait for small Alexa in Jan!? (I'm recommending the same thing to all the tPFers at the mo LOL - trying to convince myself to stay on the sofa too!) But of course we are eager to hear about your next quest!

I do need a messenger purely for those shopping days when I need to go hands free. It won't be a madly in love bag but every now and again there's a need for a bit of practicality.
Hula, I liked the Mabel hobo style a lot, it was purely the limitations of the colour that put me off the lipstick. Now if there was one in rouge noir, that would be high on the list of possibles!
I've concluded that I like hobos but not ones that are overly unstructured. Mitzy works because the leather is thicker and has more resistance to it than the soft spongy. I did think about the rouge noir Mitzy hobo but don't really want the same style in three different colours.
I'm hoping my-wardrobe don't take too long to issue a returns number so I can get the parcel back to them.

I have been hoping for a RN Mabel Hobo as well. There was going to be one but I spoke to Mulberry CS today as I hadn't seen it in the stores and was told it has been cancelled as the leather didn't pass the QC- I'm gutted!

Oh, so sorry to hear that your 2nd attempt wasn't successful either SJ. I do hope you satisfy your Mulberry craving soon.

SJ, apparently they are going to be producing a Mabel Hobo in Metallic RN. Mulberry CS told me it was going to be released in September but maybe it's been delayed ? Might be worth checking with them ? I've got the Black MH which I like alot, but find getting in and out of it more difficult than the Mitzy Hobo. On the upside, it's very light and comfortable to carry and the front pockets are a big plus.

I haven't used mine since I got the Medium Mitzy Twins, but I'm sure I'll go back to it sooner or later. Did briefly think about re-homing it, but changed my mind (I think I'd regret it if I parted with it and having done the same thing with a Chloe that I now can't seem to replace, I'm going to resist making hasty re-homing decisions in the future).

I almost sold my Chloe Bays Messenger a few months ago . Just dragged her out the dust bag tonight and the love is back as strong as ever. Sometimes I think rehoming is just a way of making the next/recent purchase less of a guilt trip. Well it is for me.
I saw metallic RN Bays at Cheshire Oaks and wasn't impressed. Nowhere near as nice as RN patent or RN Mitzi leather IMO.

Still to see an Oak Mabel Hobo other than online. I saw the regular Oak Mabel in HOF today and wasn't too keen. Sometimes I find things grow on you though (but not Abigails !!!)

You're absolutely right about the re-homing thing Corries ( or at least you've got my number anyway!). Interested to hear about the metallic RN Bays you saw - assume it would be the same leather on the Mabel Hobo. What was it that left you underwhelmed ? For me, the worry with anything metallic is the risk of the coating wearing off. This happened to a mega-expensive Chloe Bay Bag of mine very soon after purchase and it looked awful. I was very tempted by the cracked black leather Bays but resisted for the same reason.

Oh and I've seen the Mabel Hobo in Oak IRL and it wasn't calling my name. Nicer on website pics than IRL for once. I'm not 100% convinced that the spongy leather suits that colour.

I didn't like Champagne metallic last season so maybe it's just me. It's £100 more expensive on average but there is no depth to the colour as far as I'm concerned.
I remember Tireebabe got one and retuned it so pics are on the forum somewhere.

I like the bags that look good as they flake away , like the metallic bays. However not everyone could carry that off.
And what about snakeskin bags flaking away !!!!

Heeby heeby jeebies

Metallic bags are definitely not for me. I really liked the bronze range that Mulberry did a few years back until an SA told me that eventually the coating would wear off and leave a chocolate brown bag underneath.
Metallic is too blingy for me. I have bad bag lust at the moment that has not been satisfied by the Daria satchel so, in an effort to distract myself, I'm going to go and buy some boots instead!
I did seriously consider the RN Mitzy hobo but it's just not smart enough for work. I think the Mabel hobo would fit that role far better. I spoke to Mulberry yesterday and the black ones are currently 'in quarantine' but will start coming through to the outlets soon.
I'll be popping to Shepton in October so I guess I'll have to suffer bag fever until then.

I've been very pleased with your mustard mabel hobo SJ, the top flap is a bit floppy but I keep my keys and phone in the front pockets so I'm not in and out of it enough to annoy me. Sits lovely on the shoulder.

I hope you find your black MH in the near future. I'm hoping to visit SM towards 2nd weekend in Oct so we might bump into each other there!

SJ, what do Mulberry mean by the black MH bags being in quarantine ? Of the two Hobos, I agree than the Mabel looks smarter/ more dressy than the Mitzy.

Tote Girl, I agree with your description of the floppy top on the Mabel Hobo. That's problem the only slight niggle I have with my black version. I guess that's just a by-product of the spongy leather though.
