I'm slowly but surely falling in love with the Putty Leopard Print . Coral hadn't appealed to me but today I found myself becoming fond of it too.
I'd love to know from those of you who have either the Bays or Clutch versions: What made you choose one version over the other? How is it holding up given the use it gets? The website doesn't specify that it's patent, just that it's glossy. IRL it looks much better quality to me than Mulberry's usual patent or spazz. Is it the pattern that is making me think that? What sort of colours are you wearing with it? And for anyone who can help, has there ever been a patent bag that didn't end up in the Sale? I've been racking my brains but just can't remember. TIA |

I actually popped into Harrods to look at the leopardprints today. I too was surprised at the thickness of the bag, it is not just the print it is definitely considerably thicker than the patent bags. I went in assuming I would like the putty Bays and came out having fallen in love with the coral clutch. It is to die for!!!!

Flossie , I'll have a read again at your thread. How would you say it compares to your other patents? Bluecat: The handbag imps are whispering Clutch in one colour, Bays in the other ![]() ![]() I should be looking for a new house instead of plotting for bags.

I would say it's not as shiny as the other patents , plus the fact that it has an allover pattern makes it less susceptible to marks showing etc . No creasing as yet , but I've only had it a while and will report back on that one .
Coral is a stunner for sure and it was hard to make a decision . Out of the 2 I would say coral has the biggest WOW factor. |

I'm still leaning to Putty but the Coral regular Bays was a work of art.

I know what you mean corries as I was torn between putty and coral too, but decided on putty after really looking at my wardrobe and working out what clothes I could wear with each bag.
I wear quite a lot of red and blue (not together!) as well as black and different shades of grey and cream/white. Putty went with all these combinations perfectly wheras as beautiful as coral is, I found it a bit more restrictive. The coats I have also swung my decision, as I have a purple coat along with, red, black and caramel ones. Coral would only match my black jacket wheras putty goes perfectly with all of them. As for the leather: the care card says 'Glossy' and the leather is definitely not as shiny as patent and it is definitely more substansial. Then again, my boyfriend declared that "it looked plasticky" and that "the pattern is minging." Well what does he know anyway? Pah! Oh, and the suede lining is gorgeous too! I'll have to let you know about creasing etc after more than a day's use, but I will say that it is really easy to get in and out of and sits on my shoulder pretty well. I don't think I'll ever really use it without the shoulder strap as it really is quite big. I hope that is of some help! |

I love love love Mulberry's leopard print patent bags! I have a navy patent leopard bays from last A/W, I totally love the putty and coral from this season but I feel another leopard bays would be overkill as it probably wouldn't get used, navy leopard was a HG bag of mine for about a year before I took the plunge
Flossie's leopard bays clutch is a showstopper certainly, its tdf! the coral is lovely too, I couldnt choose between the two!Corrie, I think purple patent/grey patent bays sold out long before the sale, I remember seeing a pink patent bays on sale though. You can also get a some sort of insurance added on your frasers card though that if a bag you buy gets reduced you get the difference back. HoF Glasgow had a red croc print patent bays in last week, OMG it was amazing! |

I started off when I saw them both, first loving the coral more, but have to say, putty is a slow burner that steals your heart lol.
I think it will also go with more items, but either choice will not be wrong. They are absolutely stunning bags, and both super lovely. I am loving using my bays clutch, its turning out to be the perfect size, and sits so beautifully on the shoulder :) Good luck choosing!! |

Yes that's exactly what I'm looking for Bamberio. I thought putty would be more versatile but I also really want to know what colours the coral ladies are wearing with it. I could see black and brown but I'm not sure what else. Sometimes someone suggests a colour combo you never thought of though.
And the suede is a glorious contrast too I agree. It isn't at all plasticky to my eye. It is FABULOUS.I have a Spazz bag and hate to admit its a wee bit plasticky sometimes to me. Bamberio if you ever have to choose between the bag and the BF it's a no brainer Minging !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

O/T Did you register for the cheap Abigail promotion? I was going to post on the shopping forum but it's only Glasgow HOF. It's a raffle for their 160th birthday and if you win you get to buy a Cerise Abigail or a Chocolate Abigail E/W for £160. I think they are about £795 retail. I think I'll post anyway. I was thinking there is only us and LMM that are in Glasgow but Flossie, Selkie and Tiree are in striking distance too possibly. And I have maybe forgotten others. The draw isn't for two weeks. You have depressed me with the purple/grey patent selling out. I don't want to pay full price. |
