Default Purple prose - or rather pros and cons....
Help me out girls - I need your opinions and advice on the way to go with my next purchase.
I've narrowed my hunt for a colourful bag down to purple and ideally would like a Shimmy hobo but am having trouble finding one and I want to buy something NOW, you know the feeling!
So, I thought rouge noir could well make a good alternative and this is where the indecision comes in - Mitzy hobo or Mitzy messenger?
I already have the oak and turquoise hobos and the black MM and love them all. I just can't decide which one I should go for.
Any advice?

How about getting the messenger SJ. As you already have 2 hobo's, if you get the messenger you could always take off the strap and use it with one of the hobo straps. This way you will get double the usability!

^^Heck, what a good idea, I hadn't thought of that. Hmmmmm, that's got me thinking as I was swaying towards the hobo.

Had the same idea as Shopaholicmum. But SJ be sure you see the bag IRL first, the Rouge noir comes in so many different shades! I have seen lovely ones on tpf, but the one I saw in the Amsterdam shop was just ugly pink.

Sounds like a plan SJ-I've been trying on a RN Mitzy Messenger wekly and I really like it-I'm living in hope of quilted shimmy turning up, otherwise I'd have taken the plunge ages ago

i think the messenger makes a fab sized hobo, and i think the purple Mitzy comes with a choc strap anyway

The messenger is the same size as the medium hobo

On second thoughts......why don't you just try to find the Shimmy you want?
You have enough Mitzy bags!!! Phone around!! I have seen Shimmy tumbled hobo in RN IRL and it is so very well worth the "trouble' to try to find her!! Just drop dead gorgeous!

Bagcrazy has a good point, it may be worth trying to track down your hearts desire first. Have you tried out the shimmy IRL do you really love the style?

I've tried the Shimmy hobo IRL and just love it. That's my first choice. I've called around and there's none anywhere so it's really a case of hoping one pops up on evilbay. I'm not good at waiting & I loathe ebay but it's probably my only option.

I've seen the RN Mitzy in JL and the colour is lovely but I definitely don't want pink, I'm after a deep aubergine.

If I had patience this would all be so much easier! Typically, there are now loads of purple bags on ebay but none are the hobo.

I agree with Samina- try and track down the shimmy hobo first in the colour you want because that's the bag you REALLY want!

^^I can see I'm going to be driving the outlets mad calling them every day to see if one appears. I've decided I really need to fall in love with a bag while it's available!!

I would wait for the shimmy hobo too, you have 3 mitzys already and it sounds like its the shimmy you really want. What would you think if you settled on the mitzy and then a few days later the shimmy appeared?

Have you called Mulberry customer service, maybe they can look on their system and tell you where one may be available?
