KLP- I got my Boden coat delivered today too-rainyday in blue/brown. I'm thinking the same as you re-shape. i'm a 12 and bought 12 but am wondering if I should have bought the 10-except I never wore a size 10 in my life -not even when I was 10 years old If you size up, I think it will be far too roomy on the hips.
I think the colour/pattern on the other is nice-but when you say not breathable, will you sweat in it?

Hi KLP, I think go with your initial instinct on these ones, they look a bit boxy so not really creating any kind of silhouette or shape.

Is it a rain coat you are after?

Thanks for your input mamab. I really love the pattern but I think I'd be really uncomfortable wearing it in the rain - hot and humid inside my coat and wet outside: YUK!

Hi maple, thanks hon, I think you're right. Yes, it's a rain coat that I'm after. I wanted something fun and bright to wear on a grey day but I think I may go with my first choice (which I didn't buy): a Northface rain coat.

Good choice with North Face, I have a few North Face t shirts that I use for mountaineering - really breathable and a good cut too. My DH has a few outdoorsy vests from them and loves them. also - just think they do their cuts really well.
