And in a Mulberry, of course
![]() I've been 'pushing' for a while to get DH to get some kind of bag since I'm always carrying his stuff around or he's carrying plastic bags with his lunch/stuff for work, but without much luck since carrying bags is a very feminine thing in his opinion ... But then we went to London - great city! will definitely go there again - where it is obviously more normal for men to carry bags and he realised that there were actually quite many bags for men, so we decided to go look for one for him - and in Mulberry he found it! The Mabel messenger in black We both liked the black best even if the hardware on the blue is more masculine - the perfect mens bag IMO would be black with the 'black' (don't know the exact name - pewter?) hardware instead of brass which looks a little bling with the black leather ... ah well, it is of course gorgeous and not feminine at all when carried by a man, but it could def be used by women as well and I wouldn't think twice about wearing it (if he'll let me borrow it) ![]() So DH got his first Mulberry, and probabaly the last one too since he doesn't feel the need to switch bags every so often ... but you never know what happens next! Does any of your SO's carry bags or is it a strictly feminine thing to them? |

Oh Black Swarmer, what a fantastic first Mulberry bag for your DH! I hope he enjoys carrying it for years to come.
My guy friend is a big believer in men bags and I have constantly nudged him to get the Picadilly as his every day bag but so far it hasn't materialised yet due to steep price ![]() At the moment he still carries his dark brown leather Bally messenger bag but we never know... |

I should start a campaign to educate men to look beyond messenger bag....there's tons of men bag options out there...from tote to handcarry and clutch. Fabulous backpack is making a comeback for those who wants to carry their laptop in a stylish manner (look for Burberry's leather version)
....and it doesn't necessarily be black. I personally believe in oak. It's so versatile that depending on what you pair it, works with casual or even slightly more formal. |

My DH carries a Barnaby as his work bag its a luscious choc and he bought it to share but I've never got my mitts on it since. He bashes it about and it looks totally wonderful. He would get a Mulberry wallet but none suit his very specific requirements. He also has a pair of wonderful Mulberry cufflinks (his favourite) and would have 2 pairs if they had not been sold out in the sale. He would not, under any condition, wear a bag other than his barnaby and then only for work.

I've got my BF set on a Mulberry bag when he's educated and has started working! At the moment Elkington/Walter oak is the favourite.
And I'm absolutely positive he'd want to buy cufflinks, scarfs, belts etc on his own. He's got a nice wallet for now, but I know where he shall be looking when it needs replacing! |

You will have to have a trip pver here to an outlet when the time comes - your savings will cover the fares!!

Mr H has finally come round to the idea of a man bag, but only because his new job requires him to carry things around to meetings etc. I did try and persuade him to invest in a mulberry, but it was one step too far
He did nearly buy a leather Ted Baker one but decided that at £130, it was ''too much money'' (ha ha ), finally settled on a canvas one from Fat Face...

Elvis, I'm going to Bicester on my trip in Jan/Feb - have done so for the past four times I've visited London
And yes, looking forward to seeing him in a casual smart outfit with a coat and his Mulberry when the time comes!Hula, at least he's realized he needed a bag, that's the first step. The next step is when he realizes he needs quality. That's when you and Mulberry comes into the picture

Well done Black Swarmer!
I try to persuade my husband to use oak Rockley. It sure looks great on him but I am really not there yet. Will continue though .
