I wondered if you ladies would like to see the contents of a package that arrived yesterday?

Unfortunately, although they are exactly what I wanted, they have to go back today. It is not the fault of the boots, but the fault of a 'growth' on my left foot. I think it's a bunion. The right boot fits perfectly, but the left one presses on it very painfully. The leather feels soft enough to stretch but, at that price, I can't afford to take the chance that it won't. Oh well. Never mind.

What lovely boots! Such a shame that one doesn't fit, you're definitely right not to take that risk with an expensive pair though.

I love the packaging, such a bright colour! Do they use different packaging for different types of items? My recent phone case purchase came in a silvery/grey box which I hadn't seen before.

Nice boots, shame they are going back but you have to be 100%. Loving the new packaging too.

Oh MinPin - what a shame - cute boots - but I can empathise as I had to have bunion surgery 9 years ago - and what a relief that was - do highly recommend you go down that route if eventually needed........

Thanks Roxaholic! I may take your advice as, currently, all that I can comfortably wear are my Air Max. I'm not sure if it's a bunion or an arthritic deformity. I suppose I should ask a doctor. X

I suppose this is really a subject for the health/fitness sub-forum (hehe!) - but I so recommend from experience that you get it checked out - is it sort of on the side of your big toe joint?....it used to drive me mad as I had bad ones on both feet and I had the same sort of probs with footwear, esp boots where the lumps would deform the leather and be extremely uncomfortable into the bargain - so trainers really were the comfortable option......but do go to your GP and best of luck! x

The lump is definitely around the big toe joint but is protruding more to the top than to the side. If I Google 'bunion', and I don't recommend that anyone do so, then it doesn't look much like the images presented. I feel that, if my foot were X rayed, it would reveal a big ball all around the toe joint. I didn't really notice it developing. It just seems like I suddenly became aware of it and how debilitating it is.

Sorry everyone for the hideous images that must be forming in your minds!

I would say (but just through my own experience - I'm no expert!!) that it is probably a bunion - but possibly also an overgrowth of bone on the top of the foot - the latter has happened to me over time where the bone has healed after surgery - but truthfully I would rather have that issue than the deformity at the sides of the joint......but it's not a pretty subject, is it!!...

Haha Roxy! It certainly isn't and just thinking about it is making it feel tender. I think that you are absolutely right in your diagnosis and you have inspired me to do something about it. Thank you Roxaholic! XXX

Anyway people, the Dorset Flat Bootie is absolutely lovely. My picture doesn't really do them justice.

Shame about the bootees, MinPin, but just think of all the lovelies you'll be able to wear when you get your poor foot sorted (but please do it sooner rather than later before it gets worse! x)
