Default Disappointment, but now I think I might have found my ideal bag!
Yesterday I went back to Hoopers to have a proper look at the Somerset Satchels (the same as the one bought by Mrssmiff). Unfortunately I was seduced by my long time favourite, an oak Mitzy Messenger, so bought it and brought it home.

Although I'd tried it in the shop and thought it was ok, in the cold light of day I realised it's not for me. As I'm only around 4'10", it is way too long and even if I'd had extra holes punched in the strap I still wouldn't have been comfortable with it.

So today I took it back and came home with a black Somerset Satchel and a strong suspicion that I'll buying more in different colours, although might have to let some of my others go first to provide the funds!

Hard to give precise measurements with such a squashy bag, but the height is approx 28cm and the width around 30 - 32cm. Easily took my large wallet, organiser and largish paperback with room to spare. Just what I want. a roomy, but not too big, handsfree bag.

Tried to take some modelling pics but they were rubbish, you'll have to wait for someone else!

Must go outside and spray her now before the rain comes.

Oh lovely dolly! I like both these styles....i can see that at 4'10 the satchel is much more suited to you....I think i can just get away with the Mitzy at 5'4, but i thought last night, amy shorter and i would not do so....

Really glad you got what you wanted in the end and i would love to see modelling pics too...xx

Congratulations on your satchel. I'm 5ft 3 and have the Mitzy messenger and it sits almost on the top of my thigh rather than my hip so I completely understand why it would have been way too long for you.
Some modelling pics would be great, mind you, I can talk, I still haven't done any of my last bag.

Sorry the Mitzy Messenger is not the bag for you but at least you've now found 'your bag!'.
