Can anyone tell me how they have got on with Cookie Bays. I am tempted by the Pebbled Beige but have been told they are quite delicate in the Spongy leather and it wrinkles and puckers lots

Are you still pleased with Cookie purchases from lat year?

Is the pebbled beige more susceptible than maybe Oak. I love light colours and am not keen on Oak but could be swayed. There are quite a few turning up on Ebay at the mo, most of them for silly money but I guess prices will come down if they don't sell

If you look at the cookies which are turning up on fleabay which have been used, they are mostly the pebble beige and most of them have marked. If you decide to go for one make sure you use plenty of collonil.

I have an oak cookie bays. The leather is soft matte and does feel a lot softer and thicker than the regular oak bays. As it's softer, it does tend to slouch more and there were wrinkles in places when it arrived. I do like a more structured bag but I love the whole cookie look, so I have used the help of base liners and bag organisers to try to keep my cookie bays as structured as possible. I'm not using her at the moment, so she is stored away completely stuffed to the brim with tissue paper.

I wasn't too keen on oak either, but I thought the cookie design on the bays looks better on the oak and the pebbled beige, than the black. The oak on the cookie is slightly more deeper and has a more orangey undertone than the regular oak bays and I preferred this.

I have a pebbled beige cookie lily that I haven't used yet, so I can't really comment on how it holds up but being smaller than the bays, it will probably be a lot more resilient.

I've noticed the number of pebbled beige cookies turning up on ebay too - hadn't noticed marks but will have to have another look now!

Hope that helps, Mulberrygal!

I have used my Oak Cookie Bays for work nearly every day since I got it. I sprayed with Collonil 3 times over a couple of days before I took it out. I love it, it is so soft. No problems so far. I do use an XL purse liner from Chameleon.

This partly why I didn't get one. I love the colours and the design but the leather softening and getting too slouchy (I think the SBS is a more structured bag) I would be concerned about. I suppose it depends on which one you get. My Alexa has remained quite firm and wrinkle-free but for some others it has really wrinked over time.

It is worth looking at the ones on ebay so you can get an idea even if they are over-priced!

The soft matte leather on the cookie bays wrinkling is nowhere near as much as the buffalo leather on Alexas and even though it's soft, it's thicker than a regular bays so I think this will help keep wrinkles to a minimum. But it's leather and with use, there will be wrinkles and patina. Personally I love the soft matte; it's soft and sumptuous and I almost want to say buttery and mine still has that gorgeous smell of leather

Thanks for all your helpful replies.

I have been studying the ones that are turning up on Ebay but most seem to be new at the mo, not sure where they are all coming from! There was a pebbled beige one last week that was used and it looked very wrinkled. I was surprised it only got one bid and went for £450

I believe there are still a few hanging around in the Sales so might go for it. Otherwise i guess its waiting a year for them to turn up in the Outlet.

I think I would be wary of spraying Collonil on soft spongy pebbled beige. I had a really bad experience where I carefully sprayed my new Marshmallow Taylor and it wrinkled badly on all the seams and looked awful.

The leather was so soft and gorgeous but it totally wrecked the bag. I returned it to Mulberry, they were unable to say why it had happened and refunded my money

Hi Cupcake,

would you be able to post some pics, would love to see what she looks like now.

I would say the ones I have studied look more like bubbling of the leather than wrinkled. Like what happens on the ultra soft plonge lambskin, which seems to bubble & pucker enormously. I am not sure I would like it if it ages the same way.

On the other hand if they don't bubble with age I would love one

Has anyone else got some pics of a used Cookie in soft matte

I'm away this weekend but will be happy to take some pictures when I'm back. If you have a look at this link, you will see my reveal:

My First Mulberry Handbag!

If you keep going to near the end, there are some later pics there.

I don't have any experience with soft plonge lamb skin but I've googled it and found pictures of Leah. Comparing the cookie leather to the Leah leather, they're not alike. The soft matte is smoother and even though it is pebbled, it doesn't seem to be as pebbled as the pictures of Leah. Hopefully some other ladies with experience with soft plonge will be able to help?

My Cookie SBS is beige and I've been using it a lot (with light coloured clothes). I love the size, the quality of the leather and the shiny gold hardwear. The only annoying thing is the cloche dangling (as it is heavier than the standard leather ones).
I've been very surprised by how little it has marked but it has definitely darkened a little on the handles. I haven't noticed any puckering or wrinkling. I'm really happy with it and so glad I managed to buy one in the sale. I can even fit my ipad in it!

PeanutB, I've not seen a reveal of the pebbled beige SBS on here and she is gorgeous!

I loved it on Michelle Dockery at the fashion show but I'm not sure the SBS is me so didn't add her to my cookie collection...not sure if I regret not adding one or not....

Yours is beautiful! She has a very vintage feel to her

Thanks xx. I love the SBS style, it's practical and cute and cookie just makes it a bit special. The beige colour is great for my cream trench which one of my dark bags marked. I'm awaiting delivery of a black NVT SBS shortly But I have a strict one-in one-out policy which means I have a pretty fast turnover of bags in my collection. Otherwise it could all get out of hand!!! IYKWIM

Hi PeanutB

Thanks for sharing she looks absolutely gorgeous.

I love the SBS but do find her a little too small, like you say super cute which sadly is a little young for me now. I think Bays suit me better as I am getting a little long in the tooth

Most of my SBS's have gone now I am keeping one, have to choose between Conker & Birds nest It broke my heart to see some of them go especially the Hot Fuchsia. I had my heart set on getting a Bay instead but none around now. I really regretted passing them by in the sale. I shouldn't have parted with her little sister until I had a replacement.

My Outlet shopping list is getting very long for next year

Congrats, your Pebble Beige SBS is fabulous and fit for a princess
