Default Chocolate bays - to buy or not to buy?
Ladies, I need your advice and opinions please. You see below the bags I have. Mulberry choc is missing and I am contemplating spending my voucher on a choc bays before the price increase. I have decided to only buy new bags so it will be nvt. I love my oak bays but agree with most of you that it looks better in nicer weather. I have two bays which are good in the rain - fuschia holds up well but again is more of a summer colour and navy leopard is not really right for every occassion. The one thing causing me doubt is that the bays doesn't sit on my shoulder over a heavy coat.

What do you think? Could my collection benefit from this bag or would it be a waste?

Get it!!!!!!!!!!! I have mine with me today and I just love it - great for autumnal days & weather forgiving

Do you usually carry bags over your shoulder? You have 3 other bays already, so you must be able to manage them just fine

A chocolate Bays is a timeless and classic bag. If you have the means to own one, it's the kind of bag that has a place in nearly any wardrobe so I don't think you can go too wrong.

Unless you're doing a lot of walking and would need to put the bag over your shoulder while wearing a coat, it might be OK to just carry it in the crook of your arm or by the handles.

What a big decision - please let us know what you eventually decide.

Agree with the comments above; you know you like the Bays style and a chocolate Bays will round your collection off nicely. I think every Bays lover should have the two staples of oak and choc in their collection - but then I'm biased, as a choc Bays is on my wishlist too!

I'm actually thinking of choc printed bays to be a bit different.

When would you use it? Personally I love choco bays so I'm biased.

I love Chocolate Bays. It's classic and timeless and it's less high maintenance for daily usage compared to Oak IMO.

Have you picked one up? I was wearing my choco ivy bays (darwin) with my stuff in and when i picked up the choco printed one in John Lewis in cambridge I was staggered by how heavy it was- it was heaveier than my darwin bays certainly!!!. I know it probably had the dustbag and some paper in it but honestly i wondered if they had put a brick in the bottom. Try before you buy!

Oh, I'll be buying in person as I have my voucher and discount card to use so I will be doing lots of trying on. I might even get "turned" by another beauty once I'm in the Bond Street shop.

Bluecat if you do go for a choc printed bays (which i think is lovely) why not try an outlet. They get these in very regularly and the one's i have seen have looked in top condition. That way you can get a gorgeous bag at a great price!

Actually that would be a definite no. I actually don't like the colour of RN in the mitzy range - I prefer a darker purple. (no offence to the ladies who love it)

If you have problems with keeping Bays on the shoulder, then maybe that would not be the right choise, even if it is such a great bag! I love my black medium Mitzy hobo, did you try that one? Do you not want to wait for the new season bags?

I love it when somebody plans a new bag purchase !

How about a bays clutch? It is a great size (fits a magazine (A4)), great strap (thinking of winter coats), great leather (patent for A/W)...? Can you tell this is the bag I am dreaming of !? Hmmm, doesn't come in choccy though...
