Thankyou so much! I am amazingly happy to hear it! I am getting better at distinguishing between fakes and genuine ones slowly. Its great to have an expert opinion just to confirm. I wouldnt want to pay for a counterfeit.

Thanks Sterre! It did definitely seem like a bargain! Cant wait till it gets here and of course i will post some pictures for everyone to see!

Hi Brass Tree, its generally a few indicators on a bag that point to assessing as a replica but it can be as loose as just not looking 'right' over all. It takes a long time to be confident to be able to make a judgement and photos are particularly hard to tell from, but do remember that these are just opinions.

The specifics on the usual indicators of a replica aren't published as the it gives the counterfeiters more information on which to make better fakes. (if there is such a thing!).

Sorry this isn't exactly what you were looking for but I hope it helps a little.

Actually it doesn't. I can tell you this bag is NOT fake as it's my bag! I was warned about this forum when I listed it on ebay. It's the first time I've listed a designer handbag and will be the last. I can also tell you that I work for Mulberry and there is no such thing as 'experts' or 'authenticators'. If anybody comes into one of our stores even our sales staff cannot authenticate, the bag has to be sent to London. This forum is a travesty, full of do-gooders who actually do more harm than good. The designers don't apprececiate it and frankly neither do I, since my bag is not a fake, just a victim of a very bad photo.

So thank you, purse forum do-gooders for probably costing me a sale.

No dear, that's the factory. But of course, being the 'expert' you would know that.

No need to get snooty with me. I have sent several bags away for authentication & they ALWAYS go to Shepton Mallet .. but you being the Mulberry employee would know that, no?

They go to London, not the outlet store. I'm not getting into this with any of you now, I just wanted to point out that this forum is quite damaging. No-body has the right to do this to other people. It's very upsetting.

Hi there, could I suggest that you simply post some better photos onto the listing? None of us here has an alterior motive nor try to be do-gooders, just try to help others not to buy fake bags. As an employee of Mulberry, surely you have to be understanding of this? As soon as you post clear photos of the interior bagde and disc with serial number, if there is one, then you will undoubtedly get a good sale for an authentic bag. We will be really pleased to give it the thumbs up then. None of us are infalliable and we all will say this. We are only trying to help buyers and the better photos will, I'm sure help you get a great price.

I've always sent mine to Shepton Mallet and the lady I deal with on the phone regarding authentication is based at Shepton.

Bags for authentication get sent to the repairs/customer services dept at the factory in Shepton Mallet .. but perhaps I have been sending my bags to/getting them back from the wrong place all this time, with letters of authentication attached to the packages!

Would have been better for you to PM the person concerned rather than take it out in the forum!!
