mary - the ledbury auction has finished now and not really possible to tell from those photos, but the leather looks right on the picture of the tag, and the tag itself looks ok with the T in the corner.

cheyenne and 993.., the magenta bayswater doesn't look good to me.

Oh gosh people, these are getting difficult!

Beejerry - I'm inclined to think it is genuine, but not 100% sure to be honest

Pinkladee - I'm put off by the very different textures of leather. I have seen darwin bags with many varying textures but none so drastic as the smooth and then incredibly stippled on this one. I would say it is either a fake, but they aren't usually so varying in texture, or it is a model that I would think would have been sold as scrap to a staff member as I can't see that it would have ever got through quality control even to get into the factory shop or outlet. Having said that, generally the scrap ones have the label cut through. The exterior looks too shiny, but the interior shot looks right.

Incidentally, if anyone ever buys an item with the label cut through (as I have done on ebay when it wasn't disclosed by the seller, as they didn't think it was relevant!), then it has been sold to a staff member for £1!

PJ - I'm not sure - the leather looks too shiny but it could be the angling of the photos and the photo of the interior label is too out of focus. If you have the bag and could take a photo of it standing up from the front and not lying down, then that may be helpful and also in natural light. Also, the material the dustbag is made from doesn't look right.

Mmm, an interesting 'story' and also an interesting fact that the friend's boyfriend thought enough of his girlfriend to buy her a fake!
