You can get the phone numbers of the outlets from yell.com. They are based in Bicester, York and Shepton Mallet. The SAs are very helpful on the phone and will let you know what they have in stock.

To be technical about it, Shepton Mallet is a factory shop, Bicester is an outlet, but I am not sure about York, I think that is an outlet too. The factory shop has different stock to the outlet(s).

Yes, the emmy is genuine. The gold blenheim listing has finished now but it wasn't possible to tell from just those two photos. I find the metallic bags often very difficult to authenticate.

Also, it is possible to buy at lower than those 'outlet' prices mentioned, however obviously I am not going to give away any trade secrets and tell anyone who doesn't know, how to do it! The seller of the emmy however, I think buys at outlet prices as I have noticed the prices on her listings before, but other sellers buy at less than those prices.

how about this annie?

http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...MEWA:IT&ih=005

i asked the seller for more info he said,

" if you give me your email i will send you more pictures, i'm not selling at a low price as this is an auction and the price could finish at any amount, the reason it was startd low at 0.99p is that the sellers fees are lower on ebay but i expect it to rise a lot more before finishing

thanks"

any thoughts?

also would the UK outlets ship outside of the UK? probably not right? i live in toronto where there are no mulberrys in sight

thanks!

Only thing to bear in mind when buying from this seller is that they are obviously making some kind of markup on their bags - eg the bronze Bayswater is currently selling at £346 in the outlet and is listed with this seller for £395/£415; the chocolate Alana is £247 in the outlet, £295/£320 with this seller. However, if you're overseas and can't get the outlet to ship to you, then this seller seems like a good choice. If you are in the UK, it's worth phoning the outlets to see if they've got any Black Emmys in stock - they'd be £297 if they have them and shipping is around £7.50.
The only thing concerning me about this seller is that she states that "These photos are generic and may not be of the actual bag you receive". why doesn't she take pics of the actual bag?

Hi, it's me again

I saw this one a couple of times since it didn't sell. Does this look authentic? Is this really sold out and hard to find?

TIA!

a_p - it wouldn't do any harm to get some more photos. It is correct that starting at 99p without a reserve will result in lower fees which is why some sellers do sell in that way. However, that is usually when they have built up some feedback and reputation, which this seller hasn't. As the auction stands at the moment, I wouldn't personally bid as the seller is newly registered with zero feedback, has only one photo and the auction is private.

maryg - not all sellers take photos of every item if they have more than one or have more than one of the same model where they are not going to vary wildly. It is good that she has put that clause in, as some buyers might inspect the item in infinite detail and compare it stitch by stitch to the photos. She could probably have better worded the statement, rather than using the word 'generic', perhaps she could do with some sales training! lol

Claudia - I am not entirely happy about the piccadilly, but would appreciate a second opinion.

Anastacia - it looks like high shine kenya to me. I still do think it is genuine, but perhaps someone could give a second opinion

Beejerry - gosh, that keira is expensive. The mauve is a very difficult colour to sell, the keira comes in pumpkin, toast and black too, which are much nicer colours in my opinion. It is (from memory) from the A/W 2004/5 season so can only be obtained in the outlets or factory shop. However, it is usually significantly cheaper than that.

Looks like I'm stalking you round the forum, Shopaholic!

I'm not sure about the Alana but the central leather tag on my Emmy has different stitching (see my post above with pic of oak Emmy) - sort of shaped like an M. This bag doesn't have that but, of course, the Alana could be different to the Emmy. Certainly my Joni has this stitching on the interior leather tab so it could be OK.

One alarm bell is that the seller does not accept PayPal. PayPal will refund the buyer if the item is not authentic so that is one extra bit of assurance that I would be looking for. Obviously lots of sellers don't accept PayPal for many reasons so this in itself doesn't necessarily mean anything sinister.

Hopefully someone else can be more helpful.

Hey Ditab! Thanks for the help. Like I said it seems to be real but I was only new to ebay when I bought it and now that I have joined these forums and heard more about it I am not so sure! I did learn that about paypal...afterwards though. I guess you live and learn and I am hunting for real bargains and not just ebay now to be on the safe side! I'd love to find out that this was the real thing though!

I am an established ebay seller with over 7000 feedback and I live 10 miles from a Mulberry shop. Imagine my dismay when I sell a twin lock darwin belt bought in Mulberry's shop in Shepton Mallet with receipts to sweden only for the customer to question if fake because it was made in turkey and quality not as expected! She is now contacting Mulberry for more info but maybe Mulberry need to say out loud that their items are being made overseas.

Sorry, I didn't read your post properly - I didn't realise you'd already bought the bag (and I don't know what I was doing talking about the Alana).

I think that it's supposed to have a brown tag on the top middle zipper but can't find an official picture to confirm. Perhaps you can phone Mulberry and ask them to confirm the colour of the tag? And also whether it should be stitched in an M shape or not. I'm also not sure about the colour of the zipper of this tag - it seems to be a different colour to the rest of the hardware whereas it should be the same. It could be that it just hasn't photographed well, though.

Can't help you on the other bag, I'm afraid.
