Can anyone with printed leather tell me how it copes in rain compared to plain oak NVT?
I have an oak printd zinia, and I haven't given it so much thought. I think they are rather simular in rain. I seldom use my oaks in rain, I try to use black and choc when bad weather, and in really bad weather I use my LV instead

I will try and take tasselpics in a few days, must send Dh to work first, he is home on vacation now, otherwise he thinks I am mad.
Okay, great! I think it'll be the first Tassel Lily reveal on here.

Well ladies, my regular alexa in oak arrived today............................and.............. ...............I think I'm in love!!!!!!!!!!!
The reason I say 'I think' is that I'm trying to work out if I'm actually going to spend this amount of money on a bag. But I think I am .
I paid for delivery from Selfridges between 8-12 and it arrived literally just after 8am, and I didn't open it until 3pm!!! I was almost scared to open it incase I was dissapointed, but I'm not.
If I'm going to spend this amount of money on a bag I want to get my use out of it and I like to 'use' my bags if you know what I mean? I think the alexa will be a bag that I use daily and I like the fact I can use it handheld or cross body or on the shoulder. In the future I may punch another hole in the strap so that when I use it on the shoulder it sits a wee bit higher. I'm really pleased with the oak colour. I feel it will go with casual outfits but will look equally as good in a 'dressier' situation.
I don't find the fastenings too fiddly as others seem to, but I have only tried it on in the house. I need to have another try on and make a final decision but I'm pretty sure I'll be keeping it this beauty and I am now, most definitley, totally and completley on a ban. Forever
I will try and post some photos this week, thanks for all the advice ladies x

Wow Rachael - you had her with you for seven hours before opening the box!!!! I would have been a nervous wreck!!! I've usually opened the box before the driver has even made it back to their van!

I think the oak is such a versatile colour and goes with practically everything so you will get so much use out of her. My alexa arrived on Saturday and I've only tried her in the house, and like you, I haven't found the fastenings too bad but I suppose we won't be able to tell properly until we have used our Alexas properly. Good luck with your decision and give yourself time to assess - though it sounds like you have already made up your mind

I'm so glad you're happy with her! I'd be surprised if you wouldn't get a lot of use out of an oak Alexa. Oak just goes with everything, it'll make a great everyday bag. It's great that you have her home now and can try out different outfits and all that to make sure she is right for you!

I don't find the fastenings fiddly either. I usually wear my Alexa on the shoulder and only close the postman's lock. The magnetic fasteners don't close on their own, but they do keep the straps in place anyway.

Here's a useful video on how to double the strap on an Alexa, you might want to give it a try: How-to: shorten up the Alexa shoulder strap :)

Yay!!!!!! so glad you love her... Me thinks that since you made the decision to order her... Despite the money now u have her in your hands you won't be able to send her back...

I'm the same, order something, super excited to get delivery and then take my time in opening as I get worried I won't like her! Ha ha. And from my experience (although I'm a very new alexa owner) she is perfect for an everyday bag, especially in oak, will go with SO many outfits!!!

Can't wait to see pics

Ohhh thank you for that link, will have a look at it. To be honest I think I'll probably just use the postmans lock too and not bother too much about the straps closing, unless I'm somewhere where I'm particularly conscious of security x

I know it's strange isn't it??!! I get really excited about parcels arriving and want them asap, then take ages opening them!
I think you're right about not sending her back. I was thinking that I'd order from selfridges, see if I liked the bag and if so return it and search for a pre-loved on ebay. Yeah right.....who am I kidding x

Ladies one more quick question, does the top strap 'give' a little over time? I'm thinking it probably will, or as the bag slouches there will be a little more room to fit my arm through. Unless I just have huge arms x
