Hi, some updates to my situation with the fake Smithfield. I returned the bag last week to the seller in a recorded/traceable delivery. It hasn't reached the seller yet according to the postal office tracking info, but it should be there during this week I think.

Hopefully everything will go smoothly and I'll get the refund. I've already lost over 60 EUR (around 40£) since I had to pay VAT for the bag in customs and over 30 EUR for the shipping costs of the return, so even if I'll get the refund this has been an expensive lesson for me on Ebay and fakes :(

I still have the dispute open in Paypal and I don't intend to close it before getting the refund. The dispute will expire however on the first wk of February if I don't escalate it to Paypal, so I guess I need to escalate it if I haven't got the refund by that time. Also, I haven't left any feedback to the seller yet. Assuming that the refund goes OK, would you suggest leaving neutral or negative feedback to the seller?

Negative. You need to warn others, and this is the purpose of feedback.

Don't leave negative feedback until you get a refund. If she gives you negative feedback this is unfair...surely ebay can block this?

^^ you would think so wouldn`t you but you do see so many times on ebay , return spiteful feedback for something rubbish that infact they have sold.

Actually I have no faith in ebay at all, have been ripped off many a time!!!
and for the reasons you said above just didn`t bother leaving feedback as they would ruin my100% account, not on is it!!

?
Her in DK you can get VAT back if you return an item and can prove you have gotten the money for the item returned. You should try and look into that if you have the same rule whereever you are!

Did ebay change the reporting fakes process? Everytime I try and report a fake, keep getting directed to FAQ about fakes. Anybody else having this problem?

Does ebay allow us inform the winning bidder that it's a fake?

I'm not sure, it would definately be a nice thing to do if the buyer thinks it's the real deal. Such a shame if she does. The thing is, it's such a hideous fake that I can't believe the buyer doesn't realise?

I did report it, so hopefully the winning bidder will not be allowed to proceed the transaction from ebay - but I was also thinking about contacting her but I'm pretty sure it's a reason for getting kicked out of ebay

You're right - it should be an obvious fake and even worse, look at the winning bidders own items, she is selling a LOT of high brand items... But then again, if she's so experienced with ebay I guess she knows how to get her money back?

This is the bag that I was trying to report. It is just awful. Finally did figure out how to force out the email to ebay.

I saw an auction ages ago that had AUTHENTIC! written everywhere....but the pictures they'd used were tagged with the address of a site that obviously sold replicas! Priceless.
