Default saks card terms...?

I opened a Saks account to save 10% on a bag i ordered out of state. Problem is, when it got here, I didn't like it. Now they are telling me I can't get 10% off my next purchase, even if I return this one. They won't even allow me to exchange.

Has anyone ever closed their account, and then reopened to save 10% again?

Is this possible?

Thanks!

Some time ago, I used to work for a credit card company (GE Money Bank) and they have the same policy, no discount on another purchase even if you return the 1st one. As for opening a new account right after closing the one you have now, GE required you to have the account closed for at least 6 months before applying for a new one.

Now, I know Saks does not bank with GE, but you have to check with the Credit Services 800# just to be sure. Most department stores go by the same policies. Good luck!

they won't let you put that dollar amount (that actual amount you were charged, including the 10% off) towards another bag? i find that really hard to believe.

i would ask for a manager and go from there. it was an order placed online, sh*t happens, blah blah blah. i can definitely understand that you don't get the 10% off again (that's pretty common), but for them to refuse an exchange seems really unlikely.
