Default Glassdoor.com - find out other people's salaries and company reviews!

Interesting concept...people anonymously post their salaries and company reviews....now you can research on a company, type of job, etc and see whether people like working there and/or if they are making what you are looking for. :)

www.glassdoor.com

Do you guys think this is a good idea - or will it just lead to resentment and ill will between employees?

Cool! I think that's a GREAT idea! I've always wondered what other employers are like. This would help people looking to work for another company without sabotaging their current jobs.

Thank you so much for posting! When I get home I am going to do a review of my company. It is interesting to see what others at my company think about their jobs and the company overall.

hoenstly, I believe that it will evolve into a lot of disgrutled employees bashing a company.
There's a forum for the pharmaceutical industry and it's completely FULL of peeved employees making up lies trying to make others and their company look bad.
There's just no way, unfortunately, to guarantee truthfulness on a site like thathrugs

^^^actually I read the postings for my company and while there was some negativity it was balanced out with positive/constructive comments that were pretty on the mark.

I'm also in a recruiting role and the compensation ranges employees shared anonymously were pretty much on target for the stated level, role and title.

I was actually looking at this site yesterday because I'm interviewing with a huge company. I really like the concept!

I think it's a good idea. It seems pretty limited to certain jobs and fields though.

^^Yeah, it's new and started out in the Bay Area, so most of the jobs and companies are tech-based. As it grows it should expand out to other industries....
