I work in the computer engineering field and concur with this completely!

I use both Mac and a PC: PC at work, and I have a Macbook and a Dell at home. I like both.

DH feels they're overpriced and "pretty without substance". He then went into this huge rant about OS that went way over my head, but I think the general gist of it is that if you're interested primarily in internet, word processing, etc, then a mac is fine, but if you're looking for power then you'd want a PC.

I have to say, even with the problems I've had with my Mac, I have been able to replace a few parts and the machine still runs smoothly. The issues are nothing like what I had with my PC/Windows notebook after a year and a half, and a lot of that was due to spyware, adware, and viruses. I actually think I am a bit better than the average not super technical person, and this was after some help from my very technical family and SO.

It's just that I paid 4x what I would have paid for a PC.

Oh, and on another subject, I've already added to the Christmas budgie . . . We often go to this little restaurant run by an elderly couple with their grandkids (12 and 15) waiting the tables in the evenings. The younger one, the girl, is cute but sasses us, while the boy is reserved and polite and seems like a sweet kid. For god knows what reason, grandma LOVES the little girl but keeps telling us the boy is dumb as a rock and yelling at him in the kitchen. The poor thing lives in a house full of women and grandpa doesn't seem to stick up for him. Anyway, the boy clearly loves Abercrombie, so we've decided to get him a gift certificate for Christmas. Of course, that means we have to double the funds and get one for the girl, too, otherwise if grandma finds out she'll be mad at us!!

She has lectured me for not finishing my dinner and today she told us no more PDA in the restaurant

Thanks Canadianstudies for asking him. What is OS? Thank you everyone for your input. You all understand how hard it is to spend this money after all this time, specially since it started as a Lv handbag fund that I didn't spend and kept saving. I did look at how much more power I could get with a pc/windows for less money, but I can't stand all the antivirus stuff etc.

Not much new here. Tonight I have free tickets to a Cirque show at the casino, and have $250 free to spend and $50 for food. We are leaving the bank cards at home this time! It's the only way we can keep ourselves restrained!

I booked our hotel room for Disney World. By doing a lot of research I was able to save 40% off the hotel room. BIL is going with us and pays half the hotel room. Since we're Florida residents we also save a ton of money on the park tickets. We're going for 4 days in February.

Twiggers have fun tonight.Leaving the bank cards home is a smart idea. I should do that from time to time.

This is hysterical and I think that's a restaurant I would frequent often.

Awhile back I'd posted that I'd been saving up for and was considering buying a Swing bracelet from Tiffany. As most things are at Tiffany, this bracelet was laughably overpiced at $7100 (with tax it would've come to about $7600), and I decided not to buy it. Now bluenile is offering the same bracelet, same diamond carat weight, but in 18k white gold rather than platinum, for $2400. With a 10% coupon they frequently offer, and the cash back they offer on my credit card, it would be about $2100. Although I haven't decided definitely to buy it at bluenile, it sure pays to wait!

It sounds funny when it's not you, but I am mad at grandma about my PDA!! Her exact words were (to SO), "She is a very nice girl. You love her, right?" (Yes.) "You don't have to show that everywhere. You can show it at home, or in the car."

I just wanted a hug??

I keep thinking about not going anymore just to show grandma what for, but her dumplings are too good

She sounds like a real character! Just pretend she's your eccentric ol' Grandma and you may be a little tickled by her antics. And maybe try to break her PDA restriction by giving HER a big ol' hug.

Oh, she is definitely a character and she is TOO cute! Still mad at her, though! And still mad at my very own granny for asking if I was preggers! I'm thinner than she's ever seen me, but she thinks this is a good "hint." LE SIGH.

If I up grade to 320 Gb hardrive is that good. They also offer another up grade to 500 Gb but thats another hundred on top of the 5o extra I would pay to upgrade from the 250 to 320.
