Default Credit Card Disputes

Could someone please explain to me how a credit card dispute works? I ordered an item, received item, it is flawed, vendor won't issue a refund. If I get my credit card company involved what happens?

You need to contact your credit card company and tell them the situation, and find out how to handle it. I've had to use this method of settinging this type situation a few times in the past, and it's very effective.

You either call or access your account online and find the charge you want to dispute. You need to explain why you are disputing the charge. You need to give your CC company 30-90 days and they will either refund you the money or find the dispute invalid.

You have to fill out a form that you can get online or call your company. You will have to know the date, amount, and why you want to dispute it. And if you can remember exactly how many times you talked to the vendor, what the vendor said and why they aren't refunding your money..that would be helpful information for your company.
