The largest tip I've received is $100. I've gotten between 50-95 many times. I serve for a living.

Much respect because it takes a lot of patience to serve.

I have never worked in and industry where tips are common, but in Vegas I would hear of $10,000 tips pretty often...esp. at they high roller tables.

In the early 70s, my Dad got a $1000 chip, and he was not working in the casino, he just gave someone directions...not bad!

There are lots of rumors in Vegas, tips of cars, etc. The Sultan of Bruni brother Jeffery supposedly gave a waitress at Caesars a house in Spanish Trails worth $2 million. I've heard this rumor a few times. Can't verify if its true.

I teach so I don't get tips but presents such as giftcards - and the largest giftcard I received was $100 to a Spa which was nice. They usually range from $25 to $100 but the nicest gifts were always the inexpensive ones from families who are the working poor and it's unexpected.

Thank you! I will admit, years ago when I started serving I never would have thought it would be so difficult at times.

the biggest tip i’ve ever received was probably $20 off of a $30 pedicure. and at my current job, i don’t get tips. but whenever i first started here, they gave me a $500 Christmas bonus plus a $100 gift card to Macys and another $100 to Red Lobster! I was shocked because at the time I had only been employed at the company for 2 months.

^I agree! I want to know!

I've never worked for tips, nor gotten any.

When I was a waitress years ago I received 170.00 tip on a 30.00 check from a guy who would come to the restaurant I worked at weekly by himself and always tip me 100.00. While I really appreciated the money especially since he always came on slow nights eventually I had to make it clear that I was never going to go out with him. He was married and about 25 years older than I was. I also once received a 100.00 dollar tip from 5 girls who ordered burgers and a bottle of wine for lunch. There bill was 96.00.
