I think this should be in the Money Talks section..

But the most I ever made was $5 as a carry out girl, lol. I was getting paid my regular hourly pay, so I actually wasn't even expecting it.

The most I made in a night bartending in college was about $600 (it was at a big wedding at our country club with an open bar, so myself and another bartender split all the tips). From a single person I used to have a guy who would come into the country club, play golf in the morning and drink bloody marys. two or three times a week. By the end of his round he was so hammered he'd come back into the bar, get his last bloody mary and give me a $100 and tell me to keep the change. That usually happened twice a week. I loved that guy!

I don't work or have ever worked for tips, but I've gotten nice gifts from clients.

When I worked in home health my patients used to give me things for Christmas all the time, like bottles of wine or bags of persimmons or home-made tamales, like that. I would try to gently refuse the gifts but I could see it meant a lot to them to give me something.
Wow, great bedside service!

I was a grocery store bagger back in high school. I think I was like 16 at the time. The lady who was buying the groceries (she seemed shrewd) was quite impressed with how neatly I was stacking the items in the bags. She gave me a $5 tip!

that was so unexpected!! I felt so important that day. LOL

I'd say $100 cutting off cigar tips at a cigar lounge. I just did it for the holiday.

I used to waitress when I was in university. The most I made in one night was $600 on the Canada Day holiday...it was SO busy that day. My biggest individual tip was $250. I had a table of 5 young guys (all in their early to mid twenties) who had obviously been partying it up that night before they came into the restaurant where I worked. When they came to pay their bill of $150 total (appies and drinks), they started trying to "outdo" each other to see who would tip me more. In the end, they were all throwing money at me! That was an awesome night! They paid $400 for a $150 bill!!!

My DF got a tip of $1500 (on top of his pay of $600) for a party he did for a bunch of businessmen. He was playing background music as a pianist. He was totally stoked to say the least.
