My Fairy is Running! I want my $ back!!

Surely if the bag is defective they should provide a full refund. In the UK the "Sales of Goods Act" states all goods must be of of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.

If goods are faulty, the seller must offer you either:

• Free repair
• Replacement
• Credit note. Only accept a credit note if you want to buy a replacement in the same shop - you don't have to take it.

You don't have to accept any of these - you can insist on getting your money back.
If you decide to allow the trader to repair the goods, you will not have lost any rights to have your money back later if the repair is unsuccessful.

If you pay for goods by credit card and the cost is more than £100, you can ask the credit card company to refund you. If you've paid less than £100, but the seller has made express written or oral promises about the goods you may still be able to make a claim from the credit card company.

If a retailer suggests you can't return faulty goods they are committing a criminal offence.

Not sure about the US but would guess there would be similar legislation - worth checking out and going in there armed and ready - good luck!!

(such a pity as really love the design - no Prada shop in Scotland so nada chance of me getting one but I'd be if it were my bag and it started to bleed).

I called 5th Ave to inquire about my fairy dress and while I had them on the line, I asked about this issue. I was informed that later production is just as fragile as earlier production. The issue is that the design is transferred onto the bag via inkjet. They offered to let me return the bag but couldn't assure a replacement and even if they could, they could not confirm that the later version was of better quality.

Still waiting to hear from corporate.

Wow, so it will still be just as fragile? The sa I spoke to said it wouldn't be as fragile. I hate how inconsistant the information is. Does any sa truly know what is going on or are they all in the dark? What a mess!

I'm happy that they were able to take back that beautiful but flawed bag....restricter....so sorry to hear that you are having problems too....I shyed away from Prada a few years back, I find their leathers to be incredibly fragile....the bag is a piece of art, but it's basically useles if it runs like a watercolor !!! (dont worry, restricter, you still have that other piece of art [aquarelle] coming this month!!!!) ....

oH. mY. God. depression is looming over me like the raincloud that will eventually destroy my new Fairybaby. I got mine at Saks on my Saks credit card, and there is a 90 day return policy, but am going to go in and have my SA write on the receipt that there is a very very good chance that the bag will not have a long life. Now i will carry inside of her not only her dustbag, but a big plastic bag and maybe a mini umbrella to cover her...this is so sadly ridiculous! (and so am i for not returning her right away)
I should just take her back now, but love her so much, cannot. I should just go reeturn her and get a new bright colored Balenciaga that I won't ever have to worry about....or that killer Prada purple and lime green striped bag........

Very scary thought. I am so sad, but I know I will kick myself in the butt 2 months from now when trying to juggle an infant & my 3 year old I spill milk all over it and I am out 2500.00!!! That is all I see in my future with my fairy.
Anyway, I am hoping something catches my eye tomorrow in the boutique....we shall see..........

That's what I did! I had hoped that the weather would be really nice today so that we could go to the city. We usually take the train, and then stroll around - go to starbucks, BalNY, the Hello Kitty store. Tons of fun for me & my girls - bag carrying and stroller pushing for dh. The weather was AWFUL today! I think that the fairy would have completely melted! I moped and pouted until my dh drove me there. I am so much happier now. I got a bag that I have been wanting, although I told dh that he can hold it and give it to me for mothers day. So I guess that it all worked out after all!

It does rain here but not very much. We only have one week of winter and then after that it's usually 70 degrees till the summer...guess I can't live anywhere up north...But I'm goona keep this purse. It is very eye catching and very beautiful...really a work of art...

ooooo...that's bad issit it? Sorry to hear about this LUV. I suppose even when PRADA replaces it and if it bleeds again within 3 months, you can demand for a full refund. If they refuse, you can file against them with the rightful authorities, so keep your receipt well. You seem genuine about this bag and they should value your business and loyalty. Otherwise, surely there'll be loads of other designer stores who would want your business, no sweat!

I was also told by my SA that the ink on the new production of fairies should no longer run because Prada has changed the way it treats the leather.

I hate getting all these inconsistent information! Prada needs to communicate better (if at all) with its SAs and get its act together. It's not only confusing but completely frustrating to say the least. As customers, we cannot make informed decisions without the correct information!
