Default My Fairy bled, and so did my heart...
Well, , it happened, and there wasn't even any rain or even a slight mist. I think i set her down on our kitchen counter which probably had a couple of water drops. I looked at the bottom of her and sure enough, blue bleeding...........well, i wanted to cry, as you can imagine....went immediately to Saks (just got back)and the really bad thing is, the wonderful SA who went above and beyond to sell me the Fairy, had just gotten hers...she hadnt used it yet, and she was sooooooooooooo sad....she had found hers on the item locator and was honest enough not to take anyone's on the waiting list for her own, which, being an SA, she could have done. I felt bad for me but worse for her.................well, the purse manager immediately went and called Prada for an explanation and wtf is going on, because i am probably the third and last person (they only had a few) to buy this bag from Prada Saks, Boca, and it was their first experience with the shoddy workmanship. Wow, are the women in my rainy town gonna be in for a letdown......anyway, the good news is: there was a brand new gorgeous bag they had just gotten in this mornin. a true purple, luscious leather, gold h/w and insignia, shoulder bag, the style is like the multicolor pleated leather bag. and/or the bumble bee.....i got it for $2160 down from $2300 ($2438 with tax) that the Fairy cost, and got another $300 ECG card!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but you know what? i have this letdown, this feeling like the Holy Grail of Holy Grails is gone.........even though she wouldnt last...............not in this town of spontaneous thunder showers with no warning...

feel bad for raining (no pun intended) on any new Fairy owner's Parade(a).............

I am so sorry to hear about your bag! It was only a matter of time I guess. I am glad that you found another bag for yourself though! I also got a new bag, after all of this - I am over the fairy!! I won't go back for the new version.

That's too bad! For those of you who love the bag, would any of you consider just keeping it as a collector's object?

Purseonality... this saddens me too.. the number of fairy bag owners are decreasing day by day.

OMG i can't believe this is happening. WTH. How can Prada let the quality get so low for this bag? It had so much potential!!!

But, I am glad to hear that you had the opportunity to purchase the purple bag. Do post pics of this when you get the chance!

you ladies are so kind with your comments......believe me, not one of my non-purse obsessed friends would even begin to begin to understand..and.you know what? Melisande's idea regarding the collectors item did tempt me for a moment, could be an option but in my opinion it hinges on a couple of factors: (1) you have alot of other bags and/or one or two everyday bags & didnt buy the Fairy to be an everyday bag and (2) you won't be frustrated having it as mainly a collectible (3) you can afford to do that! heehee

the deal breaker for me was the fact that it got ruined without any rain or inclement weather.............. and i just couldnt justify keeping it...i mean, i collect vintage jewelry, some pieces are 70 years old and i don't wear them but just have them, but they are true collectibles, like people collect cookie jrs or teapots but don't go carrying them around, because they are meant to just sit there and be antique-ey. .......i asked myself,..is it really sensible to do that with an "It" bag, regardless how exquisite? I would worry about her every minute when carrying her, it would be much more worrisome than carrying my white caviar Chanel and just wiping her down if she gets a few smudges...much more labor intensive and delicate...

still not as ok with it as i would like to be, and the purple bag i got to replace it is beautiful but not exciting, kwim? a testimony to how much an "It" bag, a rare hard-to-get bag, can feed the obsession! i think i need to get a life and even return the purple for one of those cute cloth Tinkerbell bags found at flea markets
PS and save the $!!

what are you going to do, Jessica??

Sorry to hear that - but I'm glad your SA was able to accommodate you. Too bad - what a unique bag!

It is good to know these things before my fairy bag comes in (I waitlisted). I will turn it down. I want a bag I can throw around.

This is so awful! I'm waitlisted and wondering is it true that they have now uused a different type of leather with their bags so that it no longer runs? SHould I turn it down? I want to use it as an everyday bag not keep it in its box!

And to think this is not between life and death...huh!!! geezzz purse what to do?????? But I would not use it as an everyday bag but I will use it only on special events. Unfortunately there are no red carpet events here.hmmmmmmmm.....I need help..therapist anyone?
