Yes - but you are actually ordering from Nordstrom - they are the ones who run the Kors website, and you have to do it by phone, not online. As well, they do not collect duties and taxes the way JAX does for Coach so you will be charged that by Canada Customs upon arrival of the merchandise. Unless something has changed since last year - I only called about this once. It's definetely not as good as the Coach system.

I think you kind of have to look at purchasing Kors in a completely different way than Coach:
  • Kors has a 10 day refund/exchange policy so your bag is pretty much final sale.
  • The stores do not seem to want to share merchandise in the same way the Coach stores do - they are not as amenable to ordering in from other stores and consider it a last resort and may not even do it at all
  • Ordering from the website is not as transparent a process as it is with Coach and they cannot even tell you the final shipping charges until you complete the order (which I thought was weird)
  • Duties/taxes are to be paid by you upon the item arriving into Canada, not collected up front.
For me, I've completely changed my mindset on purchasing now. I buy Kors in store only - it seems to be the way they prefer to do business. As I mentioned before - they have a completely different business model from Coach - more of a "final sale" approach.

Oh, and one last thing - if you do order in from the US I am not sure if you would be allowed to return it to a Kors store, I didn't ask about that.

^^ Great description, Chrissy!! It is too bad that it is so hard for us here in Canada to order through the Web site. I just found out that the large Hamilton that I like is $295 US and $398 CAN!!!

Yeah, it sucks. That's part of the reason I kept the smaller ID chain - there was only a $50 difference on that one, but on the bigger one there was a $100 difference and that seems to be the norm. You almost gotta stay off the website cause it will drive you nuts.

The Uptown Astor isn't too bad either though - $50 difference. I can handle that. $100 - that bugs me a bit and the pricier the bag the bigger the difference.

^^ I wish I could get smaller bags, but most of the time they are dwarfed against me :(! I like the shape of the Astor, but not the studs :(. Mind you, I am liking the Colette :). I am keeping my fingers crossed that when I finally get to the outlet, there is something there that is reasonably priced that I like :)!

I think I'm the only person in the free world not on facebook - never got into that whole social networking thing. Am I aging myself?

I've bought a couple off ebay but usually get them at TJ Maxx. I have a hard time paying retail for anything.

I usually get them from Macys (on sale) but most recently bought mine from the Kors online website (only because it was a new bag and I HAD to have the bag)!! No regrets, I love it!

Nordstrom also ships by courier so taxes/brokerage fees are super high. Not worth it IMO. I bought the Tulah Ray Satchel a while back at their anniversary sale and while the bag was only like $249, I paid $70 on customs/brokerage fees. I was no happy.
