I'm a programmer/database developer and I work from home 4 days a week!

I'm not sure that's a good thing though... I keep buying bags and telling myself that it's okay because I'm hardly spending money on gas and lunches out with my co-workers.

That's EXACTLY how it is with me!
I have my own Graphic Design Office and a flat in the back, so I practically live at work. That way I always have The Purse Forum (and ebay…) available.

I am right down the street from you (sort of!). I work at NASA (which is near L'Enfant and about 6 blocks from the Capitol).

I just spent six years serving in the Air Force working with foreign languages. I recently moved to Pennsylvania with my fiance (whom I met in the service). I'm getting ready to begin nursing school in the fall at a small, private college in northeastern Pennsylvania. Being a jobless, full-time student is certainly going to put a damper on my handbag fetish!

I look forward to reading more of these posts and getting to know everyone on this forum!

Wow! It's really cool getting to know what everyone's real lives are like!!

As for me, I am a stay at home mommy of 2 boys, ages 6 and 3. My dh and I own an underground utilities construction company (think cable t.v., telephone, fiber optics). In my spare time, I am very involved in my church, where I am on the worship team. We have 4 dogs (a labrador retriever, an english setter, a mini schnauzer, and a chihuahua) and one ball python.

lol, yes. I am no rocket scientist though. I manage the training center here and also teach classes.

And just got another weirdo phone call from someone asking to discuss dark energy. I think my work # used to belong to one of the scientists here so I get these weird calls every few weeks. The last one was from an old woman who wanted to talk about Mars. lol.

no no thank you thank you but i am shy in person and would be petrified iN FRONT of the camera! keep me behind! i can only 'speak out' here behind my computer keyboard(isn't that an amazing thing that so many people do???)
but big careers are a choice and having a family and kids and lots of dogs is something i had to give up to be able to travel for work so many years..
however i am going to try and make up for it big time asap
anyone with ideas for working from home bring it on!
taking care of my parents though was the most rewarding thing in my life and my mom still is with us just love it!

I am a Branch/Sales Manager with a staffing service. I have been in the Staffing Industry since 1995 (took a 4.5 year break when my daughter was born). I love my job but am really regretting my decision to go back to work. Hopefully I will be working from home on a very part-time basis very soon.

I understand how you guys feel. I work at home as well. I love that I don't have to spend that much on gas and eating out. But the money saved goes towards the shopping I do on my spare time.

Wow- It really is amazing how many different people are on this site! I am a stay at home mom to a 4 year old and an almost 3 year old (Irish Twins...even though we are Italian!) Before kids I was a First Grade teacher and I taught Dance to children in the evenings.

Thanks for starting this thread! It has been so fun to read.
