Default Waah my poor mbmj!! question on removing imbedded color transfer
Hii, this is my first post on this forum. I've learned soo many new things from you ladies. But I have a question about removing color transfer on MJ bags.

My very first MbMJ, lime green turnlock satchel got all blackened by my wool peacoat that i've been using. i'm so sad .. i've read raves on apple care leather products and i'm about to go buy some. but i heared MJ bags are very sensitive to color change and damage (unfinished leather??) so should i use the leather cleaner or leather care lotion?

thanks in advance!!

It's very important that you clean color transfer right away! My boyfriend got jeans color transfer on my Light French Grey Teri once, and I quickly cleaned it with my Cadillac leather cleaner/conditioner - and fortunately, 99% of it vanished - I was SO relieved! Try it!

I heard of people using scotch tape to lift the color transfer but I would do a TPF search before trying. I think it was in the Coach forum

Kiwi is made especially for shoes, correct? I would avoid that type of leather cleaner, just because it's not made for sensitive leathers - and you'd hate to damage your bag!

I tried a Wilsons TLC leather lotion when my Prada satchel had a horrible color transfer from my indigo color jeans, and it did not remove all color transfer, but it worked well and removed major portion of color transfers.
The leather of the prada bag was also delicate, but its color's dark brown, so I wasn't too much worry about using the leather lotion to it, but I guess you need to be more careful as your bag has a bright color.
If you are not sure what to use or worry much to ruin your bag, I'd go for a professional cleaning service. :)

I would NOT recommend Kiwi Leather lotion -- I used this on one of my fav MJ bags and it lifted some of the color leaving the areas I treated slightly faded. I had used it previously, but never noticed anything before, but I would never trust Kiwi to my MJ bags again after that -- I always use either Cadillac (which you can get at Nordstrom stores) or Apple (you can find this online or at most Burlington Coat Factory stores)

Apple makes both a cleaner and a conditioner -- I've used both safely on my MJ bags with no color lift
