LVOE me some MJ
I was surfing along, when the Striping line caught my eye - it's usually way out of my price range/budget, but since I am graduating, I might be able to swing one as a present

I'm gravitating towards the Trish over the Hudson, because of the shoulder strap, and I'm a sucker for convertible straps ever since I got my MbMJ Dr. Q Hillier Hobo. Also, this style kind of reminds me of the Dr. Q Groovee, which I lusted after, but never ended up getting (since I got the hobo instead). I loved the saddle color, so perhaps Chestnut?

Now the question is, what color to get? The Trish seems to be a more casual bag than the Zip Bowler in Chestnut, but I think the Black and Chili could be work-appropriate. I've narrowed it down to either the Chestnut or Chili, since I feel like I have enough black bags for play & work. Chestnut seems the most vibrant, bringing out the striping detail the most, but does it "work" well with lots of colors? I want my bags to be versatile!

My current bags in rotation: Longchamp Le Pliage in Bilberry (my tote-anything to school/wherever bag), MbMJ Hillier Hobo in black (my go-to bag!), Rebecca Minkoff Black Basketweave Morning After Bag, Coach Bridgit in Platinum, LV Speedy 30 (whenever I want to fuss with a hand-held bag). I have two more small/clutch-size RMs on the way that are black and dark purple, so...help me decide which striping color I need in my collection!

Both colors are gorgeuous, but my first love was always the chestnut (as you can tell by my avatar). It is a really great, saturated neautral that works well with all colored clothing. The chili seems to have some burgandy undertones, which may not be quite as versatile. JMO though! I am sure the other ladies will chime in!

Brown is not usually a colour I'd go for and before I saw chili irl I'd have said chili, but chestnut is beautiful and goes with everything and I just love the way the black patent stripes look against the chestnut (I've got a chestnut hudson and bowler). good luck don't think you can go wrong with any of the striping bag colours

I used to have a Hudson in Chestnut and honestly, I wasn't a big fan of the color, but for some reason, in the Trish and the Large Bowler it looks much nicer - I think it's got something to do with the slouchiness of the bag.

Between those two colors tho, I think I'd probably choose the Chili -- gorgeous, unusual shade that's not very "common."

This is like asking me who I love more among my twins (when I have kids). I can't answer this - sorry. They are equally stunning to me so you really can't go wrong. Flip a coin so it's fair and square.

I love both. I don't have Chili (although, I want one), but I do have a Chestnut Hudson and it is one of the bags I use the most in Fall. The color is great and really goes with a lot in my wardrobe. I can't choose, either. Sorry. Both are beautiful.

okay, i looked at my chili trish and my chestnut striping bowler and bypassing the styles, i have to say i love the chestnut more. it stands out, the color is rich, and, i dunno, it looks so much more badass. the chili really is lovely and i've been fiending after a chili hudson since i first laid eyes on all things mj. whichever one you end up picking, you'd be making the right decision.

I have both colors, but in different styles. I rarely use my chestnut stripings. To me, they are more casual. I tend to dress very casually, so my handbags reflect a dressier attitude. I always reach for the chili, then the black, then the dark brown. I have used my chestnut hudson once and the chestnut bowler not more than five times. I love all the stripings, so whatever you decide is the correct decision....

I'm loving everyone's comments so far! Chestnut does seem to be a more stand-out striping color combo, but the Chili seems to have quite a few favorites here. I'm still torn! I really might have to close my eyes and flip a coin...

I totally agree with your style. I can be pretty casual on a school day, and dressy at night. I like my bags to be able to go from day-to-night, so when I looked over at them, I realized that they're all pretty dressy in the details

Question about Chili: Is is pretty darn brown IRL? Most photos here make it seem that way, and I can only make out the burgundy/red undertones when there's a flash.

You choose a very beautiful and sought -after line. I love both color. I actually own the chestnut zip bowler and black slouchy tote(at one point). I love the zipbowler in chestnut. I always wanted the chili one, but when it pops up, i don't have the fund for it. IMO, i like the chestnut more b/c of the color contrast and i do think the chestnut brings out more of the striping. Good luck finding ones, they do pop up, but in rare occasion. Tiger is the queen of striping

i attache here is her striping collection for your review

You're in luck, there are plenty of Trishes about at the moment, 3 on bonanzle (black, chestnut and chili) and 2 on ebay (chestnut).
