Default Newbie Question About Purse Care
Hello again!

My new Marc (Marc by Marc Jacobs Punk Posh Convertible Clutch) is waiting for me in my apartment office (they are closed so I can't pick it up! Grr). Anyways, when I receive it, should I put some leather protector on it? I have never owned a Marc before so I just want to make sure I take very good care of it. Also, if you do recommend using leather protector, I want to wear it tomorrow night to some parties, do you think I could wear it and then put the protector on afterwards?

Any advice is helpful! Thank you and I can't wait to post pictures!

Congrats on your new purchase!! And welcome.

Man, I hate it when my packages are locked up in my apartment complex's office - is it bad I'm tempted to break in there sometimes....?

It's absolutely fine if you take out your new clutch for a night. There shouldn't be any damage - MbMJ leather is quite durable, and it's not as if you'll be extremely hard on it or anything. Just go ahead and buy some Cadillac (from Nordstrom) or Apple Care (leatherstuff.com, among other places) leather cleaner/conditioner when you can. Just apply it liberally to the leather, let it dry for awhile, and then you can buff it away a bit. Easy peasy!

Good luck, and congratulations again!!

Great - thank you!

I have some leather stuff that I received from Wilson's Leather that I think I will use. I hope that's okay. I am SO excited to open it tomorrow! I am going to pick it up in the morning but wait to open it until after work. Ooo the anticipation! :-)

I have a similar question (not to hijack) but all my marc bags come with a card not to protect it using chemical protector. What does that mean? I was going to buy the stuff from nordstom's but I'm concerned? Also I put too much crap in my bigger one and the seal along the straps is starting to crack is there any remedy for that?
