P.S. that bookstore looks like Powell's - the largest new and used bookstore in the world, in my city, Portland OR. Anyone know for sure?

Sorry for the delay ladies and gents. I didn't have lunch and was so hungry so went out to eat.

So to continue on, the ad earlier is one of the first Marc Jacobs men's ad shot by Juergen Teller. I remember first seeing this ad in Details magazine and was so excited by it because they usually just shoot only women's ad campaigns. I think this is during when they started expanding their men's business. I luv looking at MJ ads from JT. They have this comforting quality because they look like nostalgic photographs of people living their daily lives in familiar situations stylized with MJ products.

My first Marc Jacobs experience was during Spring Break of college when I took my first trip to New York City in the Spring of 2002. One of my goals to accomplish during that trip is to do an M&M (Marc Jacobs & Magnolia Bakery ) I first had a glimpse of M&M when I saw episodes of Sex and the city when Stanford went shopping at the MJ men's store and also when Carrie and Miranda ate cupcakes at Magnolia Bakery.
My first trek to Bleecker St I could remember my senses was perplexed by the sight, sound, and smell of all the activities happening all around. The blasting sound of Sonic Youth coming from a record store, a sight of a fat cat licking its paws next to a pile of books displayed outside a bookstore, the smell of fresh flowers from a flower shop. My first step inside the MJ store, the first thing my eyes saw was a group of Crayola colored canvas and leather duffel bags and immediately thought that it will be my first MJ purchase. When I talked to the sales guy who looked like a member of a rock band and found out the price of the bag, I was saddened that I couldn't afford it since it was still priced regular retail. However to my delight, the men's ready to wear was on sale and I was able to purchase a floral printed rayon shirt. I was so happy as the punk rock sales associate wrapped the shirt with tissue and placed it inside a stark white shopping bag that says Marc Jacobs. I left the store with my first MJ purchase so happy and excited carrying my shopping bag for everyone to see I celebrated my purchase with my first taste of cupcake from Magnolia Bakery.

Back home in Chicago, I tried to relive my M&M experience by frequently wearing my favorite MJ shirt to a local cupcake shop and eating cupcakes with my favorite girlfriend ( like hey girlfriend!). I also often thought about that duffel bag that I didn't buy and wandering if the bag is now on sale. Therefore every week or two, I called the store in New York to see if I can finally buy it however only to find out that I still can't. To lessen my grief, I bought myself another MJ item that I got on sale at Saks. It's a maroon colored t shirt with a screen print design of the word Mayonnaise. Another month passed by and still obsessed about the bag, I dialed once more and a sale was made

Justin was named after my high school and college crushes coincidentally both named Justin. Justin spent many tiring times with me during night school, I worked during the day. All the hard work in school made it more worth while and enjoyable because Justin was with me Today, Justin is my gym partner
