Wink My 1st MbyMJ - FARIDAH! Lots of size & capacity info & pics!
After loving MbyMJ items forever, I finally have one - a Faridah Hobo in beautiful Ocean!

This baby arrived this morning and is everything I'd expected her to be - thick, smooshy leather, lovely padded straps, and softer than a baby's behind! I'm in love, and thought I'd take a ton of pics to show everyone what a fabulous bag the Faridah is.

I've got shots of it empty, shots with everything you could possibly fit in it - you'll be amazed - and have even weighed it! I thought that since I was taking lots of pics anyway I might as well take more and put the information out there for others who might be considering the bag. So stand by, there's lots of pics and posts to come, and some modelling shots too. Hope they help!

* For modelling shots I'm 5'7", 52kg / 115lb.

More of the bag itself.... It has the two deep front turnlock pockets, large enough to fit my LV Agenda PM with Cles inside or an LV Wapity.

The front also has a zippered pouch above the turnlock pockets that extends downwards within the lining almost to the bottom of the bag. I can easily fit a book or even my Hermes Ulysse MM or Louis Vuitton Agenda GM in there.

I took everything I had in my work bag (an Andrea Brueckner Vegas Bucket Bag) and tried fitting them into Faridah. They all fit, but only just! This is way more than you'd ever want to carry around though.. I tried it on my shoulder and it's too bulky, but it should give an idea at least of what can fit in to compare with what you usually lug around.

Hahaha oh and there's a pic of Indi, who walked in from the heat and flumped herself down in the camera shot, so figured I may as well include her!

It was pretty packed with all that in there, though! I wouldn't do that to it, even despite my work bag only being carried from house to truck, then truck to work and back again. It was just too much.

So I swapped out the stuff I didn't need, and just put in what I'd take were I popping out to the coffee shop here on a day off. My Journal and notepad, the Hermes Ulysses MM and PM in the yellow dustbag; my wallet, the LV Agenda PM with Cles inside; my Mini Accessories Pouch; a book and ever-present magazine; Hermes Ulysse TPM in one of those front pockets, and hairbrush and keys in the other; and it was MUCH better! Then took out the Ulysses and tried it without those too, in the other shot with the two books back inside, that's the last shot.

The bag's fabulous if you daily carry a medium to a lot of junk around with you, or you travel light but like to be organised and also often pick up things as you go like if out shopping. Inside there's a flat zippered pocket, a mobile phone pouch and a larger pouch beside it, making there seven compartments within this bag!

Measurements are:

Width: 15"
Depth: 6" at base, but sides can expand probably 3-4" further!
Height: 14" in the middle (it drops a bit there)
Drop: 8-10", given the top of the bag slouches when you carry it. When I carry it, it on average sits at a 10" drop.

The bag empty weighs 1.040kg - thank you, kitchen scales! - and compared to LV and Balenciaga it's heavier, but against my Mulberry and Chloe bags it's feather-light! The strap really is as soft and padded as it looks, and despite the bulk of the bag itself, when chokka full of my work gear it was still very comfortable upon my shoulder despite the weight.

It's a wonderful bag overall, I love it and it's one that'd be hard to regret buying. It's casual but still tidy, and slouchy but very organised and versatile at the same time. The Ocean colour is wonderful, a soft stone grey with hints of deep turquoise in the sunlight! The lining is mindboggling, but i love it!

Overall, this gets two thumbs up on the Frankie Scale. That's two-outta-two, of course.. why, how many thumbs did you think I had??!

It doesn't get much better, anyway!

Congratulations! I too have this bag in this very colour! I think you and I are one of the few lucky ones in Australia to have this bag.

Thank you all!

Black/Maroon, the Damier stuff is wonderful, they're my lifesavers!

Maci, snap! What great taste we share!

Sock and Maci, you two should join the Aussie thread - here - Aussie Aussie Aussie

As for the pooch, Little Miss was having a rare moment of motionlessness. Indi's an American Staffordshire, 18 months old, and is turning us grey!

Here's she and Harvey (an English Staffordshire) when she was a bub in winter last year.. they LOVE each other, they're so cute, always cuddling up and licking and stuff. Harvey was so gentle with her when we first got her, though he did look a bit confused at the small bundle of teeth often attached to and dangling from his jowls! She's reallly cheeky, and only an hour after meeting him (he was 3 and fully grown entire male) she was beating him up. Lucky he's a sook!

And from a little older..

And this year.. (cheeky cow on the chair!)

Errrr *whoops* and back to the bag! Here's a picture of the bag! LOL! Ahh the dog's a pain in the hiney, but somehow I always get sucked in. She's got more character than a soap opera!

Frankie, congrats on a gorgeous bag! I love the Faridah, I've got 2, and the ocean color is fantastic. You are such a doll to provide so much infor. No doubt this will come in handy for someone else!

Seeing the pics of your dog makes me smile and sad at the same time. We used to have an American Staffordshire, Emmitt. Best dog ever! He got brain stem cancer at about 2 years of age & there was nothing we could do. He was a rescue from the pound, he was super sick, parvo, worms, dehydrated, etc, so once we nursed him back to health, he was forever greatful! I remember his energy, endless!!!
