One of them isn't getting mailed until Monday but I think the other three all went out Thursday or yesterday at the latest, so I think Monday might be a very good day! (As long as DH isn't home when the mail lady comes, that is!)

I'm so bummed
The fireworks display we normally go see every year -- 2 different towns that are side by side, their displays are held within 4 blocks of each other & they always time them so when one ends, the other begins, so it's always an approx 45 minute - 1 hour show!! (you can sit in one place and have a clear/perfect view of both) -- BOTH of them canceled their displays this year due to financial restraints

Chicago held their large display last night, so here I am sitting in front of my TV getting ready to watch the Macy's display from NY (which is a wonderful display -- I'd love to be in NY one yr for the 4th!!) and that's the extent of my fireworks display this year!!

(it's been raining all day and is so muggy and damp outside, I don't even know who or where else is putting on a display)

I love fireworks and am so bummed out
(plus, the baby's daddy picked her up an hour ago and we were having such a good day together!!

there's fire crackers & bottle rockets going off all around me
one went off in my back yard a little while ago & scared the crap out of me!!
I thought my back door blew up!!
they were still going well after 2 in the morning last night
(and every time she heard one, kaylee would say "what's that?!"

I love that show & think it stinks that they canceled it
(they're showing the final 4 episodes - tonight is the second to last one)
all the good shows get canceled while all these crappy reality shoes keeping popping up (Lipstick Jungle as another fav that got canceled!)

OK, here they come -- NY fireworks have begun!!!!

these fireworks are SPECTACULAR!!!
they actually had smiley faced ones!!!
I can never get over how many diff locations they shoot these off from & how perfectly in sync they are!!! I can ALMOST smell the sulfur thru my TV!! (then again, that might be from my neighbor's, who I'm afraid are going to blow up their house any minute!!!)

You New Yorkers are sooooo lucky!!
(I wonder if tad and/or tuffcookie can see them from where they live?)

just came back from the roof deck. the fireworks were pretty.

that sucks that chicago canceled theirs, ilmb. i hope the nyc ones did the trick for you. happy belated btw. i saw your grey bbag. it's gorgeous.

jun, that's not cool. they can't just change your hours without any notice. how unprofessional of them.

I always marvel at the Macys display in NY
its gotta be something to see in person!!!

Chicago actually did their fireworks last night
we never go to that because its way too crazy getting in and out of the city
(and most yrs Im working anyhow, so we watch them from the office!)
one yr we watched them from my brother-in-law's who lives downtown

we live just outside the city in the suburbs. Our town actually did fireworks a few weeks ago for a festival they had (they weren't very good either) its the town next to us and the one next to that where we usually go, who's displays were canceled. It was actually on the news the other night since it was a kinda big deal -- since the 2 towns are so close and their displays are done so close together, its become a tradition for most residents of the 3 towns (ours and those 2), plus other surrounding towns. One of them usually has this HUGE festival all day with a parade and carnival, etc and all of that was canceled.

it really put a damper on a lot of people's plans

the fireworks in NY were amazing to (I actually just rewound it because I missed the finale!!)
