they were selling for $220...which is why i jumped on it! i was so disappointed because i was passing by and i wanted it but didn't have enough. i was thinking about it the whole night and made sure i woke up early enough to head out to the store when it opened so that i could have 100% chance of getting it!
i'm pretty sure they didn't know they were selling a fake. i've seen them reject a balenciaga lookalike? someone had brought it in and they turned it down because "it wasn't in season" which i highly doubt because the bags they sell come in a lot of varieties. the cashier looked worried/horrified when she made the comparison from ebay to the stam. the whole situation seemed unprecedented as if they've never encountered this before.

i'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and say that this stam made it into their possession by mistake.

i hate fakes. :(

also, she definitely believed me because who in their right mind would return a $220 stam if it were real?
i think i'm going to stop by tomorrow morning to see if it's up for sale again. if anyone in NYC sees a stam for sale at a consignment store for the next few weeks, proceed with caution!

yes, if they relist it after you returned it, then beware of the boutique!

i'm glad everything worked out. i thought they'd put up more of a fight due to the lack of a receipt, but it's great that they ended up doing the right thing. i really hope the store owners/managers have enough integrity not to sell it to another unwitting customer now that they know they have a fake on their hands.

yay, glad to hear that you got your refund. I hate when fakes get put back into the market. I wish it would be ok to write FAKE on red marker over the bags whenever they're spotted/returned.

Silentriot...what was the name of the consignment store you purchased it from. I have bought bags from consignment stores in the past. I live in NYC and Ineed to know where you got it from so that i NEVER go there again!!!!
