this bag has definitely been faked. you will need pics of the exterior and interior zipperheads as well as the season tag.

when I first saw the pics you posted, I remembered seeing a bag like this as part of the new F/W season -- the chain is what I remembered most. If it winds up that its not authentic, could you return it at a later date?

My gut wants to say it's real, but I can't say that with any amount of certainty. Not until I've at least seen one in person either at the MbyMJ store or one of the dept stores.

Maybe someone else has already seen this style and they might be able to help you further. It's a really pretty bag and I'm hoping that it's real!!

When I first saw this bag, the chain was what got me :) Then I checked the website and it does have that style. That's why I proceeded with my purchase. I understand that it's hard to compare when it's not even out in stores yet. I honestly didn't think that it's not released yet, although I couldn't find any other website that has it.

The store has a returnable policy if it's proven inauthentic though. But the seller said that I should wait for like 2 months to see when it's actually released (about the difference in size) and I'm not sure what's the policy is when it's that long. Plus, I actually can't wait to wear it. It's so freakin' gorgeous! Thanks so much for the help!

That is interesting how these people manage to get bags that aren't even released yet! I agree with iluvmybags, because none of us have really seen the bag IRL or being sold on an online retailer, it's hard to say whether or not it is authentic. I feel so much better now that you said the HW looks consistent. I never had any other MbMJ bag apart from that Firebird hobo that I just received, so I really know nothing about it.

So, do you think it's safe to assume and give benefit of the doubt that it's authentic? How long does it usually take for the Fall 09 collection to be released? I can not wait to wear it, but then again, I still have a couple of bags I haven't even worn yet. I don't go out often :(

Yes, the side of the zipper pull does say YKK. Is it an even better sign of authenticity? Do you need me to take a picture of it? I mean, I would feel much better wearing the bag when there are no red flags and it looks promisingly auhentic

As for the Firebird, the lining color does look off. But it doesn't matter now that I know I don't have to worry about it.

^^ I own a firebird Tina... the lining scramble letters are definitely NOT PURE WHITE. More of an off white... eggshell even, you might say
