Authentic bags do come with a black tag inside the zippered pocket and consist of letters and numbers. Fake bags have been duplicating this too, so it's hard to tell unless you can see a difference in the font.

It looks pretty good to me, the texture of the patent is dead on. I would check with zoinksta though, I think she bought and returned one recently... She'd be a better expert!

I don't think the older bags had them, I know the stams had them in 2005. I don't really know when they started putting the tags in. I checked my Carmen and there is a tag in the pocket.

This bag has been up on eBay for a while. I would ask the seller if she still has the Barney's receipt available. If you're looking for a black stam bag, not icy, why not buy directly from the Saks.com with the 10% off? Then you won't have to worry about authenticity issues.

I found earlier posts, check out post starting with #122 in this thread. She says she doesn't have the receipt but has the barney's tags. Also, her starting bid for the auction at that time was $1000. No one could find anything wrong with it at that time but no one is 100% certain it's authentic either.. it's a tough call. Maybe ask for a photo of the black tag in the interior pocket, check to see if the font matches an authentic bag.

jeez it's really hard to tell from the pics as they are so fuzzy. Ask her what the interior is, it looks like suede not sure though. Also ask her when she bought the bag. You also want a pic of the underside of the zipper pull and a better pic of the interior MJ plaque.

I think it's real though. Topstitching and pockets look good.

I say fake, leather looks cheap, pockets weird, topstitching off...Plus I don't recall ever seeing pepto bismol pink by MJ lol

Jeez....I had no idea that there was a debate on this. I e-mailed the seller asking about the zippers again, and she had the same response.

I just love the Fall Stams....I have a newer Stam, so I know what hallmarks to look for, whereas I'm not completely familiar with the original Stams. I'm not completely in love with the new Stam, so I'm looking around.

Thanks for your input.
