On December 8, Shanghai Centre boutique featured Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs 2006 Resort Presentation. A total of 31 outfits were presented by six models including Gigi Leung, the famous movie star and singer.

The 2006 Marc Jacobs Resort Collection uses soft pink as the theme colour, mixing with soothing tones like light grey, lavender or beige and adorned with special touches of copper and silver, this collection has all the relaxing and natural style it takes to appeal.

Pansy Print, the vivid retro floral pattern, ushers in an early spring. Themed with petals showered on the hills, this design is filled with the warmth of spring and the blossoms of the holiday.

The layering method that dominated the 40s to 60s is thoughtfully applied again. Simply mix and match a feminine tweed jacket with a chiffon blouse to round off your uniquely stylish look.

Together with the signature layering method, creativity extends to the artistic level as the fitting tight pants are cut and reassembled with criss-crossing zippers. It is truly a design that is both fun and refreshing.

Called a "bad boy" in the fashion world, the designer shows a little rock and roll style in the sweet collection. Marc Jacobs puts a lot of effort on heavy zippers, buttons, metallic belts, pins, punk rivets and beads, to extend the romance of the last season. Lighting the whole package with soft swinging cardigans and chiffon, it is so simple and crisp that it opens up a uniquely free personal style.

In the same catwalk show, the 2006 Marc by Marc Jacobs Resort Collection was also presented. As an extension from fall and winter's Grunge style, the mix and match elements in Marc by Marc Jacobs becomes more sophisticated, featuring a hint of holiday leisure.

In this collection, lots of spring colours are incorporated, such as beige, grey, brown, with brightly lit purple, dark red and blue, which brings life to the whole design. Peek a boo, Sea of Love and Safety Net patterns wake everyone's kids at heart in this holiday mood, creating a sweet and lovable girly image. Jungle Flower and Le Tiger patterns are so tropical that they can make you feel like breathing fresh air in the wild instantly.

The whole collection is filled with the retro tastes of the 20's, with dropped-waistskirts, round-collar cardigans, princess sleeves and checked overcoats, giving you the classic retro feeling.Together with satin dresses or widecut shorts, the retro style is re-invented. Designers meticulously incorporated irregular shapes and knotted collars to stand out from the usual. Metallic stripes and stitches brighten the ordinary jeans; sparkling beads decorate the simple long dress. All these add attractive and interesting elements to this season's collection.
