Default Sarah Palin's Daughter, Piper Palin $3k Louis Vuitton Controvery
There has been a lot of special interest in the purse Sarah Palin's daughter was carrying on September 11. 6 year old Piper Palin was carrying the bag pictured below and all of the media outlets are angry. CNN is even reporting that her daughter is carrying a $3000 bag.

HERE IS THE PROBLEM...it is FAKE!!!

It is either an aweful (gag) speedy knockoff or a horrible montorgreuil fake (double gag) or some hideous mutant of the two.

My other problem is that even it WERE real it is not a 3K bag. The cost of the real thing is Speedy ($625-$750) or Montorgreuil ($790-$865)

COULD SOMEONE PLEASE INFORM THE MEDIA!!!

It always amazes me how far off the mark reporters are, obviously someone spotted a "louis Vuitton" and thought it would make a great story but where did they get that price from?? It's not even hard to check all they have to do is look on the LV website, there's nothing even similar to that with a 3K price tag.
Another fine example of poor journalism.

It's difficult to express an opinion with it becoming politcal so I'll just leave it at a public figure (or immediate family member who is likely to be shown publically too) should not be carrying a fake, that said she's a 6 year old girl I don't think it's right for the media to tear her down

Frankly I don't really understand why it matters what purse she was carrying on september 11th anyway? Are we not supposed to carry designers on that day now? It's a bit weird that she's so young and all, but it's clearly fake and even if it wasn't, again, WHO CARES? I hate that the media do this all the time, they make it so people feel justified in judging others for what they do all the time. You are totally right though, why wouldn't they actually do some research and find out the bag was fake? Or even what the RIGHT price would be if it was real? So annoying

Please remember that political discussions are not permitted on TPF. I will leave the thread open as long as the conversation remains totally about the bag.

Isn't it illegal to buy fakes? Or is it just sell fakes

Just another example of how despicable these people are...
Watch what you are saying, it is getting close to political. And give me a break, the kid is 6. At least the RNC didn't pay for a real LV for the kid.

Personally I'm hoping the kid visits France with it then we can all sit back and watch the International Incident unfold. LVMH marketing must be absolutely thrilled at the prospect.

Thats just sick. A vice-president candidate, and her daughter is using a knock-off bag...
