Default My Louis was stolen! A sad story...

Hi everyone... I was in Paris mid-June and my Mono cles was stolen. This was my very first LV item, which was given to me as a gift by my mother during our first trip to Paris. I was absolutely heartbroken, and still get upset when I think about it. There was quite a bit of cash in there, but even more than that, the experience was very upsetting. I've never had anything stolen before and you feel so violated. Especially being in a foreign country, I felt really helpless. Even though this item didn't cost a lot, it is the sentimental value that is irreplaceable.

After the incident, my boyfriend took my straight to LV to replace it - he even said he would 'upgrade' me to something else if I wanted (what an offer)! However, I was still so upset that I didn't buy anything. Buying an LV should always be a FUN experience, and it didn't feel fun at the time.

Now that I am back home, I am ready to buy something. I was using the cles as a wallet (I am not a big wallet kind of girl). I still don't know if I want to get the same item because I don't want to replace it.

Now, I need your help! I was first drawn to the zippy coin purse, but I don't LOVE it (no offense to anyone, as I think it's a great piece, just not for me).

I was thinking of the multicles rabat - but haven't seen it IRL yet. Also, the porte-monnaie accordeon (smaller one) looks good, but I think I read on here that it is discontinued? Any other suggestions? I do want Mono and my budget is around $300.

Thanks for your help and for listening to my sad story and sorry for the LONG post!!

I tPF!

For some reason, I think you should replace your mono cles, you loved it so much.

That was my original intention, but I was worried that every time I used it (everyday), it would remind me of what happened...

I need a fresh start!!

I think you replace your cles, then you can start fresh. But I'm thinking of how I would react, you may need to handle your situation differently.
Do let us know what you decide. It's terrible to have something stolen!

It's such an awful feeling to have something stolen, especially when it had sentimental value

I agree with the others that you should replace it though, it seems like it was perfect for you and hopefully you could attach a different kind of value to this one -from your boyfriend but in place of what your mom got you. If you were really happy with it, I wouldn't try something else

I'm sorry to hear something of such sentimental value was stolen. I can't imagine what an awful feeling that is .

I was browsing through the wallets and found a couple. Well, what about a mini-pochette? It's similar to a cles but bigger and not technically a wallet either. Or perhaps the Ludlow? I like the Multicles Rabat too. Let us know what you decide!

I don't have a lot of experience with stolen things but i lose my things all the time and it's devastating! I'm so sorry you had to go through this. I would replace the original one like many here have already suggested. Hopefully you can associate new memories with it.

i like the rabbat multicles, give it a whirl. and it will be LIKE your original cles, but a slight twist.

I have the multicles rabat and can recommend that. I find it as practical as my cles, but even better because it holds my longer keys and has a pocket for cards or cash too. I think that would make a great and updated replacement for your cles.
