Gosh! I am so sorry this is happening to you! I recently sold an authentic LV on there. I am relieved the girl that bought it was honest! Now after reading this I don't think I will EVER sell another thing on ebay. This post just opened my eyes up! These dishonest people have too much time on their hands to think of these horrid scams!!! I have my doubts as well on the whole mypoupette thing too! I would not trust them at all. I would take it to a LV store and have the manager do it! I was always told there is at least 1 person in the store that can authenticate a bag! GOOD LUCK!!! KARMA IS A B****!!! She will get what she deserves one day!! Honesty will prevail!!!

YAY! She closed the Paypal claim and emailed me this:"I haven't called you any names. I cannot believe the things you and your friends have said about me on that ridiculous purseblog. This situation is exhausting to me and very juvenile. Whether or not this bag is fake or real this is just not worth it. I can take a $600.00 loss. Just as you feel the things I have said are untrue , I feel the same way about you. At least I didn't have my supporters e-mailing and bashing you. You can take this for what its worth. Your feedback was a lot worse than mine, as well as your comments." She just needs to give it up and admit she was wrong...my goodness gracious!! I emailed her back: "Enjoy your 100% AUTHENTIC Louis Vuitton Cabas Piano!! You got an awesome deal considering I paid over a grand for it!! Take care!" I JUST WANT TO THANK EVERYONE FOR THEIR SUPPORT & ADVICE...I LOVE MY PURSE FORUM FAMILY! Okay I'm so over this thread...hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!!

Great news! Congrats - she did get an awesome deal - she probably got it authenticated and knows she's in the wrong...

Hoorrah!!! I'm glad everything turned out ok. I'm sure she realized the bag was authentic otherwise, no one in their right mind will risk loosing that kind of money.

To the above poster:
Yes, I am also having problems reading 99% threads. I keep getting an error message. There seems to be a problem happening with tPF. |

yea!
Didn't she call you pathetic? How were your words worse? Glad that she closed the claim, but if she still doesn't see her bag is real I feel bad for the bag which she will probably not use. |

Lynpink, good to hear she backed down sooner rather than later. It was obvious that she would have to, she didn’t have a leg to stand on, and - as she’s clearly been reading this thread - she knew it. The score is now one to the lady trying to make an honest dollar selling her authentic LV, and zero to the sort of buyer who makes life difficult not just for sellers but for buyers as well, when the sellers have to impose restrictions on buyers as a result of their negative experience with difficult buyers.
It was obviously a horrible experience for you and I'm just glad you will now have some peace of mind (although I imagine you'll still want to do something about the feedback). Personally, being both a buyer and a seller, I extend to all sellers I buy from exactly the same courtesies I appreciate when it's me in the role of the the seller. You ask your questions and do your checks beforehand, you bid early to register your interest, when you win you wait for the invoice and pay promptly when it arrives. When the item arrives you get on and leave positive feedback to let the seller know the transaction has been happily concluded. It's all just plain, simple courtesy and it's not even a little bit difficult. I just feel sorry that so many people have said in this thread that it's because of this sort of negative experience that they won't sell on eBay. Maybe everyone should have to sell five or ten of their most prized possessions on eBay before they're allowed in as buyers ... that would certainly sort out a few people. |

I'm glad this is over for you but sorry it was such a horrible experience. There are so many honest buyers and sellers out there it's just too bad that the dishonest ones end up making honest people wary.

What a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE OMG...I'm so glad things worked out in your favor. I'm 100% sure the buyer knew she was wrong but she has this attitude that does not back down!! Gosh, she just cannot admit she's wrong, can she? regardless, she got a great bag for a great price. Sorry you had to go through all that...its these ebay buyers that make me never want to deal with ebay!!

There's another point there, and that is the relatively protected position of the buyer. I've bought several LVs from PFers and they've been really enjoyable transactions. I mean, what are the chances you're being sold a fake by someone who's been a member of this forum for enthusiasts - fans of the brand - for six months or a year, who has logged up 500 or 1000 posts, and who a year or so ago was posting about having just bought the bag they're now selling? Oh, and who is encouraging you to have it authenticated by the forum experts? As a buyer, it's your call. If you've done your homework re authenticity and checked the seller's posting history, you may not feel like you're taking much of a risk at all. On the other hand, if you're a cautious type and you want 100% certainty, you'll probably have a policy of only buying in store. Either way, as the buyer, it's your call. Nobody is forcing you to put up your hand and bid for the bag. The seller doesn't have the same sort of choice ... if that were the case, a seller could stipulate that they will only accept bids from people with a history of buying LVs (just as they, the seller, have a demonstrable history of buying and selling LVs). An equitable system would see the seller able to specify that they will only accept bids from buyers who have previously purchased say, 5 or more LV items, and who have 100% feedback on both sides of those transactions. But eBay won't let the seller do that. Essentially, the buyer can do checks on the seller that the seller can't do on the buyer. And that is not fair to the seller. That's the way eBay is run. AFAIK, the only way I can ban a buyer is if they have two NPB strikes in the last 30 days. As though one weren't bad enough. As though it weren't bad enough that they only have 85% feedback. As though it weren't bad enough that they have five bid retractions in the last 30 days. Or four NPB strikes in the last 60 days. But I can't ban a buyer for any of those reasons; the eBay system protects buyers at the expense of sellers. A fair system would allow sellers to ban known problem buyers from their auctions. I would ban Lynpink's buyer from my auctions without hesitation, but as far as I understand it, that can't be done. And it stinks that it can't.
