okay crazy to say... but... its not exaggerations my entire family are in hawaii and i lived there for years and for as much i hate to say it, hawaii is the closest thing to living in the philippines... 95% are asians and asian americans... i am dead serious! LOL

if hawaii is considered asian markets then i guess that sums it up ... hopefully lv sees that we do crave for the things they do get in japana and hawaii 1st and would make it available to the rest of the usa

I've been living in Hawaii for all of my 19 years and I can see why you would think that 95% of everyone is Asian. That's really not the case though, at all, and it's a rather huge misconception. Think of all the military that live in Hawaii. We have several military bases here on Oahu, with a majority of the soldiers being from the mainland US (with a lot of them/their families being caucasian).

2005 census results (according to wikipedia):
41.26% white
57.53% Asian

make up the majority of Hawaii.

Hong Kong is not getting the watercolor speedy brown in 30. Hong Kong is just as "Asian" as Japan, yet they're not getting the 30 size. So I think to categorize Asian dominated areas as getting the smaller of the two bags because they're more petite is a rather false and generalized statement. Guam is getting the 30 wc in brown, does that mean people from Guam are also petite? It has more to do with exclusivity and demand in the luxury market vs the size of the customer. Just my 2 cents.

If your "entire" family is in Hawaii ~ can't they get you the 30 and send it to you?

I think it is so unfair that 30 was limited to areas, the 30 is the real Speedy classic & everyone should have had a shot. I love my 35 but it is big & even with cosmetics purse, wallet, cheque books & things, they just rattle around in the bottom. It is great if shopping though I can put small bags in but I so want the 30!

Another reason why I don't think it has anything to do with the size of the buyer...

Hawaii has noticeably lower prices on LV items than the mainland US. Why is this? The prices on eLuxury are more expensive than the prices at my local boutiques. Food for thought.

My best guess is that because Hawaii is such a draw for tourists and because the designer boutiques here are raking in massive amounts of money for LV, that's their little "incentive" to buy. It goes along with the allure of an exclusive bag. A tourist or even a local dropping by a Hawaii/Japan/Guam boutique is much more likely to buy a bag when they're told it's exclusive and very hard to get. It's all about marketing and demand.

I also agree, exaggeration on your part, I lived there for many years and just got back from a visit there. Perhaps tourists or walking along Waikiki but the resident population is NOT 95% asians and asian americans. ALSO when you use the term Hawaii, Hawaii covers several islands and on some of the islands there is only a tiny asian population, but even on Oahu where the Asian population is larger when compared to the other islands is still not 95%!!!!!!!!
