Default Good Story about exchange for Neverfull damaged strap (long story!)
I have a good story to share about my Damier Neverfull GM that I purchased on August 1st of this year… about 3 weeks ago, I began to notice the leather straps beginning to pucker and peel. One of the peeling edges actually broke, and was slowly tearing down the side of the strap. Also, the base of the strap (is it called the “petal”?) was beginning to crack up and peel. So after putting off the store visit for about a week, I took it into the Bal Harbor store tonight (where I originally purchased it) and showed it to the same sales associate who sold me the bag.
She took a quick look at it, and went into the back room and asked another woman (presumably a manager?) to come out and check it. The manager (?) was very efficient and came out to inspect the strap – at first she started to say they would send the bag out for the straps to be re-sealed but upon further inspection , instructed my SA to “just replace it”…. Can I say “Yeah!”…. She promptly brought me a new bag which I inspected thoroughly before transferring my brown jumbo purse organizer (which they loved!! And gushed over it a bit) over to the new bag.
Of course, I am worried that the same thing will happen to the straps on this new bag, but I appreciate the goodwill effort they showed at this early stage to ensure I have a good product. It really looked tacky – and I felt bad carrying a bag that looked abused on the straps after paying such a hefty sum for the expectation of quality and durability. I’m a happy camper at this point J
I also dropped off my new baby, my Insolite wallet in Rose Pop for the heat stamping of my initials – my SA was a bit unsure of what size font I was looking for, so I’m hoping she got it right on the order. And after reading some of the posts on there, I must recommend that LV have a proper order sheet with coded fonts for the SA’s to use when ordering the customization. I’m sure it will help to avoid MANY errors. They should call me for pick-up within the week. Will let you know how it turns out.
Thank you to all the great folks on this forum who are so dedicated to their love of beautiful things – it’s nice to find a friendly online community with so many knowledgeable and helpful members.

Thank you, I am :) I feel so much better in looking at it now.

I'm adding some pictures to help others out there who may see the same thing with their bags...

This peeling problem has become so widespread it is soooooooo pathetic that they are making such low quality straps! Even a bag from Forever 21 wouldn't do that so fast.

Yikes!!!!!!
