The mall that I usually shop at has a dog friendly policy, which is great for dog lovers but I think the policy is probably meant for those individuals with tiny Yorkies that they can fit in purses. Well in saks there was a man with a huge golden retriever. Nothing embarrassing happened to the guy but I was scared for him lol. They were over by the glass cologne case and shoes and I was afraid the doggy would take the whole thing out lol.

I don't have a lot of patience with people who go into stores with food or drink...I think it's rude, Neither do I have patience with clerks who forget their place in the store....they're hired help. That's not to say that I'm better than them, but as brand ambassadors, the last thing they should be doing is alienating customers by putting on airs.

I also think that the whole episode makes LV seem a bit tawdry and grubby. Don't allow someone in with coffee. Handle an episode like this behind closed doors. Absorb the loss...clean and donate the bag to raise money for charity...you're a vastly wealthy company with plenty of insurance. Take the high road.

I had an aunt, a sophisticated, elegant "woman of a certain age" who was Christmas shopping upstairs at Tiffany on 5th when she accidentally bumped into a display of china.

Several pieces crashed to the ground and smashed, as every eye turned to stare at her. Two SAs rushed up to her, and she said (with her heart in her mouth) "Of course I'll pay for the damage."

The response? "Oh no, madam. We just want to make sure you're not hurt."

She tried to insist upon paying, but they absolutely wouldn't hear of it.

No wonder Holly Golightly said "Didn't I tell you this place was wonderful?'

That story about your aunt is so sweet! I've never been to Tiffanys, but I hear so much about how amazing their service is!

I think CC's have their negatives and positives--too many open lines of credit or high balances will bring your credit score down and it's tough to get a loan/mortgage or you get stuck with a really high interest rate. But having a few cc's brings your score up!

CC's can also be a slippery slope for people who can't manage their finances. And the cc companies love that!! They'll just keep increasing the limit while the poor sucker only pays the minimum. At least with cash, you're forced to stick to your budget.

That said when I go to LV I pay with either cash or cc. I paid for my first Speedy with all cash- $750 and the last time I bought something there I paid cash. We had to go to a "special" register for that! LOL!! I guess only certain registers accept cash.

This does not surprise me one bit about LV. Good for Tiffany's.
They are so much more friendly!!

Just had an embarrassing experience earlier. Went in the store to have a bag authenticated. I read from some thread before, and even from those who sell pre-loved ones, that it's ok to meet at the store to have a bag authenticated. I just bought a pre-loved item recently, and since I was in the area, I decided to enter the store and ask a staff if I can have it authenticated. The staff said that they don't authenticate bags. I asked her if that was a policy ever since, and she said, "Yes."

They don't authenticate bags by u walking in and asking to authenticate.. Your item would need some type of repair done or maybe even inquire about heat stamping..

I was once wearing leather soled shoes at my local boutique. It has 2 little steps between the two parts of the shop and I slipped on them and landed smack on the floor. That was very embarrassing especially as at least 4 different SAs ran up to me to see if I was alright and help me up. So there was no way I could get away with it discreetly...

Well I wasn't really embarassed but I got no service at the Champs Elysees store in Paris so I ended up finding the cash register lady who asked if I knew what I wanted because I did so she quickly took care of me :)

At the LV by my apartment, I was chatting with my SA and this woman keeps walking by the store and the other SA says oh thats the lady who wants us to walk out and greet her and beckon her inside...all the time. im like o_O ok? kinda snooty? and they all nod. They also complain that they have lives too and families. They just work there. They don't live and breathe LV. They are badgered by requests for items coming in next year they know nothing about because they didn't have any meetings on it.
