Default Why the price difference from in the boutique and online?
ALOHA everyone!

I have a question...I just purchased the new LV book with Takashi Murakami's LV hands on the cover, from my local boutique, through my SA. I purchased it at $170.00. Before going down, I had checked on the online website to see if I could get some info on the book, and noticed that the price was, and still is $130.00. So when I went down to purchase the book I had asked my SA, 'why the difference in price?' She told me that MAYBE the one online did not come with the slip-case. I just gought home and checked the website again, and it says that it DOES come with the slip case.
SOOOO, does anyone know why there should be a difference in the price? Oh, and by the way, I live in Hawaii if that should make a difference.
If for some reason, the price should be different from online and in the boutique, I kind of want to return the book to my SA, and purchase it online. I love my SA, and she even gave me some chocolate with this purchase, but a $40.00 difference just boggles me.

Hmmm that's strange. I live in Hawaii too and I have the opposite experience with bags. They are at least $100 cheaper locally than online. If the online version also comes with a slip case then I can't explain the price difference. Which LV boutique did you get it from?

I noticed that too. I was going to buy one here (i live in HI too). But they told me it was 170 on the phone. So i bought it online and only paid 136. My sprouse book was more expensive to buy here too. Idk why they do that with books. At least everything else is cheaper.

Cheetah7...I purchased the book from the Hilton boutique. Would you return it, and order it from online?

i wouldnt. I mean you want it and already bought it. Why go through the trouble to save 40 dollars. Look at it as a lesson learned when it comes to buying the books. I bet you've saved more that 40 dollars in LV, by living in HI.

sxcruz22...you are right. Not to mention my SA was so sweet to call me and tell me about the book, AND gave me some chocolate with the purchase. Thanks for the input!

good choice considering that your SA is so sweet and gave you a little gift.

Hi l7dude,

I would just keep the book. I think it would be more trouble than it's worth to return it. I too would like to know why the book is more expensive here while everything else is cheaper.
