Default What's the longest you've had to wait?

Been 3 weeks now since I reserved an Epi Alma in Grenade and still no sign of it arriving. I'm trying to be patient (only phoned the once) but feel LV are slow at getting the stock to stores so, what's the longest you've had to wait for a delivery to your local store (for a bag)?

I'm wondering what you mean by "reserved?"

Do you mean waitlisted? Because I didn't think one could reserve something from LV, just request to be notified when one comes in, or give a cc to have it charged if one comes available (these are forms of being waitlisted).

If in fact you were waitlisted, you could wait forever! There are plenty of threads in here that talk about people who did this and never got notified only to find their dream bag on the shelf one day when stopping in! I waitlisted for a tivoli pm for my mother and never got called, one day I call the store and they have one - I paid over the phone and that was that!

I would recommend being as pro-active as your time allows - call the stores regularly, check eLux and vuitton.com a few times a day, etc.

In fact, on Louisvuitton.com they have it available right now! Good luck!

I waited 3 months for an item and then over a month for a transfer from another store. I would give them a call to ensure that they know you still want the bag

I ordered the Grenade Alma as they didn't have one in stock. That was 3 weeks ago (and there's been the price increase since then) so not happy. Seriously considering not bothering as one SA said there WAS a strap for the grenade, and another SA (and customer support on their website) said there wasn't and when I did call to see roughly when it would come in, they hadn't a clue as "it's coming from France". I really love the colour and that's the ONLY reason I've not cancelled the order (they wouldn't let me buy it in advance either so will be £40 worse off as well).

So I guess I'm confused...

Can you RESERVE a bag from an SA? or was my original post correct?

Just trying to get my facts strait

I'm confused too. If the OP only waitlisted for a bag, the wait could be very very long. If the OP already paid for the bag (as in it was already rung up--not just taking down CC info to ring up later) than 3 weeks is definitely too long.

I waitlisted for the speedy watercolor 30 in white at the three LV boutiques here in Hawaii. I got two calls from the same LV boutique (Hilton in Waikiki) and bought one. They called me within a week of being asked to be on the waitlist, and this was way way after everyone else seems to have gotten theirs. I jumped in late on the bandwagon, so to speak.

This was 1-2 months ago. I still have yet to get a call from the other two LV boutiques. I have a feeling they will never call me, and I have purchased many things from LV. The particular LV I got the white wc speedy 30 in is geared primarily towards tourists because of its location, and since they no longer do charge sends, it would be pointless for someone that doesn't live in Hawaii to waitlist there. The other two LV boutiques that never called me back are the ones that are geared not only to tourists but to locals as well, which is why their waitlists are much MUCH longer (even the LV sales associates told me this).

OK, here's the story. Went into LV shop and asked to see the Alma in Grenade. The SA said they only had it in Ivory (and brought that one out to show me). I tried it on with the stap and was so asked if they could order me one in Grenade. The SA went onto the computer thingy at the till point and and requested one then printed out a piece of paper with an order number on it. I said "do you want me to pay for it just now?" and she responded "no, just pay for it when it comes in". I asked if they were definately doing the strap in grenade and she said "yes, it's just not on the system yet so I can't order it yet."

I waited two weeks and as I hadn't heard anything called the shop. They said it still hadn't arrived and they had no idea when it would as it was coming from France (I assume from the main store in Paris). They never called to say there was going to be a price rise (or I would have paid the day I was looking at the Ivory one). They have them on the website but I object to paying £55 extra now (£40 increase plus the £15 shipping costs).

I also sent an e-mail to the LV website to enquire when the grenade strap would be available (given the SA had said there was defo going to be one) and was told they had "no plans to produce a strap in that colour at this time". I wanted to be able to wear the bag on my shoulder so am now confused...I don't want to appear pushy or anything but I expected more from a luxury brand as I've ordered items from Hermes without any trouble and never had to wait any longer than 2 weeks for the item to be delivered to the shop.
