Default Turned off by snide responses?

Do you sometimes not buy an authentic bag on eBay if the seller responds to questions in a snotty way?

The bag I'm looking at is a very good deal, but I wanted a clearer picture of one aspect. The seller responded by saying: i looked at the pics and they are perfectly clear..i can assure you the bag is an authentic bag as you can see from the pics if you know what you are looking for

Well, I do know what I'm looking for, and despite how much I'd like the bag, I'm tempted not to buy it because of her response.

When you're selling something for $800, couldn't you stand to be just a smidge nicer to possible customers?

Is it stupid to pass on something because the seller is rude?

If the seller won't send you more pictures then I would pass, no matter how good the deal is. I personally get turned off of an item when the sellers respond rudely, and usually will just skip it. For the money that we are going to spend on their items, they can at least me kind when answering questions.

Well most people selling on eBay are not in sales and customer service and do not realize the impact of their response.

Hiya Iris, IMHO for $800 smackolas, if someone is rude to me, it would create an uncomfortable feeling in my stomach. If I were going to drop that kind of cash, I'd want to feel totally comfortable. The fact that you're even asking tells me you are unsure. Personally, I would skip it and go with my gut. And who's to say she's not hiding something?
I think you should put it towards your Manhattan GM . Good luck with whatever you decide, my dear.

I get upset with rudeness. It's much less energy to just be kind. I'm not perfect either, but I do try to be nice and sometimes, I do get my feelings hurt. So, I hear ya. People don't understand how their tone comes across on email and are all stressed out, etc. Still nice is best.

definitely pass it..

you never know if sell got the photo elsewhere, and therefore cannot take more photo for you. It's always a risk if they are not willing to send you additional photos.

Yep. And plus, unwillingness to send photos, whether lack of one or laziness, Is a sign of a bad seller, IMO.

For me rude seller = no sale. There are other bags and nicer people I can give my hard earned money to. I prefer my purchases to be pleasant all the way around if I can help it.

there will be other good deals that come by:) if the seller is refusing to send more pics, chances are she's got something to hide.

i had a similar experience with an annoying seller.. i asked for a pic of the date code and the first time she responsed saying that there was already a pic of the inside... well, the date code was not in the shot of the inside pic. i wrote back telling her this..her second response was "i didn't see anything inside.." i wrote back again telling her where the date code should be. and her third response, still no pic, and she says something about she doesn't know what i'm talking about, took the item to louis vuitton store (what???), and she's gonna keep it now....what?!??!!? i don't even understand what she was trying to say. all i can say is SHADY...

If the seller doesn't have a good attitude, respond to my questions, or doesn't want to give a clearer photo then I pass. It's not worth the trouble of buying, having it be SNAD and then dealing with a rude seller to try and get your money back.
