Torn between MC Speedy and Rita

hi fellow vuitton-aholics.. im torn between the MC Speedy and Rita as my first MC bag..

from the posts here, i notice some find the speedy heavy for their use? i havent had the chance to read any reviews about the rita yet, but i see many pictures of members enjoying the rita..

if it would help, i have as part of my collection -- the speedies in monogram (35), a mini lin, and the basic aquarelle speedy. should i get the MC speedy it would add to my speedies. but sometimes i think that maybe getting an MC Speedy would be too common a sight already?

on the other hand, some say that the design of rita may be too busy for everyday use.. but personally, i find it very beautiful.

please help me decide! i know that the rita costs more than the speedy so id like to make the right decision. i will get a white one first, then add a same bag in black in the future. i just dont know which style!

i wish i could get myself to buy them both but they really are expensive!

MC Speedy. I love mine! Rita is nice, but heavy as well and I saw one in person and I just wasn't in love with it.

MC Speedy is lightweight and a beauty! On the other hand the MC Rita is heavier. All that being said the Rita has more storage compartments, cell phone pocket, detachable shoulder strap and is gorgeous! Go and try it on in the Boutique with all your stuff in it. You might be surprised which one you prefer. I returned an MC Rita and still thinking about getting it again LOL! Let us know what you decide and post modeling pictures!

Hmmm...I had the same dilemma. I loved the MC Speedy and wanted to get that, but I didn't like the sag factor in the bag, although I could have put a base in it to hold its shape, but I didn't want to add anything to that bag. I thought it should already hold its shape for such a high-priced bag. lol

I went for the white MC Rita because it was more versatile with its shoulder strap and more compartments.

Try both of them on at the LV boutique and see which one really calls out to you more and takes your breath away. You can't go wrong with either one. Good luck with your decision!!

I agree with the other posters - its best to go to the store and try things on to see which you will like most! You might surprise yourself! Whenever I'm undecided that always does the trick. Also there have been times I've loved a bag, tried it on and felt only BLAH about it! That happened with the bronze Mahina - good thing I didn't order it as its such an expensive bag!

You will probably want to try it on anyways because the color combos on these bags vary and everyone has different tastes!

Personally, I've loved the MC Speedy for a while now. I don't have one yet, but I just got the craving for one about a week ago (damn bag ban). Unfortunately I really need a work bag (thinking epi line) so I may have to put it off longer...

wow! seems like we have a following for the speedy. :) thanks for all your quick responses!

i did go to the store and tried both the speedy and rita on.. the speedy was as expected -- beauty and function rolled into one, trusty as my other speedies; and the rita did have much more detail, pockets, and zippers to it, truly a beauty as well.

my purchase won't be until august so i still have a month to think about it.. id be very very very happy with either of them but still couldn't decide which!

please do keep your suggestions coming! :) thanks again!
