Default The price they pay for designer bags

I came across this post on craigslist and thought i was quite ridiculously funny for how much these people want to buy authentic designer handbags. I can only wish i only pay this much for preowned designer bags.

Post: (I post the message rather than the link since i would be erased in few days)

If you are looking for Cash and have what I am looking for - I purchase vintage and contemporary authentic high-end handbags, scarves, shoes, belts and clothing.

I am looking for the following: Chanel, Vuitton, Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Hermes, Escada, St. John, Prada, Fendi, Ferragamo, Dior, Versace, Valentino, YSL, Pucci and any other notable designers. I am also looking for vintage couture, any designer. For vintage, designer labels in the garment are not necessary as its often obvious that it is a high quality garment.

Note that I am not looking for fakes. Please do not waste my time or yours by trying to sell me a fake handbag or other items, I have many years experience buying and selling and I can tell the difference right away.

What we pay: Here is a general idea of what I will pay for authentic items: Vuitton bags up to $200 each depending on style/condition. Chanel bags up to $300 depending on style/condition. Gucci up to $100 each depending on style/condition.

If you are interested in selling your authentic items to me, please send me an email listing what you have (with sizing for clothing and shoes) and what you want for the items, photos would be helpful if possible.

Please note that I am only interested in dealing in the bay area.

Thank you for your time. it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests

Fair? lol. How many Louis Vuitton bags are priced at the $200.00 mark in the boutique? Unless the bag is used to the point that it is falling apart.. I cannot see this person purchasing many bags at the $200.00 price point.

Yes its fair they have to resell them. No one should pay that much for used. I sold used guccis and fendis at a my garage sale for 35 40 each.

I think $200 is a little low...even if those buyers are planning on reselling and making a profit. I've seen $200 LVs on eBay but those bags were usually very worn or defective in some form or other (missing hardware, broken strap, ripped leather) etc. For that pittance, I would rather sell my used bag on Ebay than to that reseller.

thats what fp does... 200 dollar for a lv bag??? what if it was a prestige condition? they only pay 200 dollar for it?
I sold mine very good condition purse on cl. There was low baller offer like 50% of the price i listed.

Couple days ago, I came across neverfull MM in craigslist for 500 dollars... I sent email to her and asked her if she would meet at LV for authentication. She told me she doesnt know if its real. Im like if you know that your selling fake, why would you post for 500 dollars?
Theres plenty of people sell fakes for 100 dollars therefore 200 dollar for authentic lv is too cheap

I think 200 is a little bit too low... since with the price increase 4 times a year, there will not be any LV that is lower than 600 dollars. It is not even 50 % of the bag value.

I once took a Gucci Bag to a Vintage Shop here in Italy just to see what's the going price for me....
I didnt want to sell my Gucci, I was only spying to see how the market is..

The Idiot of a man examined it, knew that it was real...pretended that the model was no longer in demand(when it is as it is only 2 yrs old)....all the drama of a Buyer...
He told me that he would not even give me Euro50 for it!
I looked back at him and said I can sell it somewhere else for at least Euro250 and walked out that shop...

These days you can do your own selling, I have walked in many vintage shops and noticed thier prices...so high but they buy so low from customers...
$200 buying for a Louis Vuitton is definately not selling for that price but triple!

They buy them off of you for 200 or under but, how much do they resell them for...they do not nothing and mark up the bag by many more hundreds of dollars...sell your LV yourself rather than to a reseller at that price....they are just making $$$$ off of you....gucci for a $100...please
