hi all. hope anyone can assist me. i just bought an lv bag in paris and flying back home on monday. i was able to have my tax refund processed in gallery lafayette where i got the bag. they told me i have to go thru customs and have my tax refund form stamped.
do i have to show custom's people the bag i bought in it's original form,i.e. w/ the paperbag and all. i'm planning to use it already and don't intend to carry the shopping bag all the way home. any assistance is greatly appreciated. thanks in advance! |

I think if you do a search in the FAQ section you'll find a thread on this.

nah you don't have to. i flew out of Frankfurt Airport and I showed them I was already using the bag. I just handed them the original LV receipt and the lady in customs just smiled and stamped it.. It's no big deal as long as you have the receipt with you...

You don't have to, you just have to show them the bag and the receipt, meaning you should not check it in prior to customs, its better that you'll be using it.

I agree with the above posters. Just don't check the purchase and have it easily available in case customs asks to see it.
