not to be an enabler, but i definitely think you should buy it... that is such an awesome deal for an authentic mc speedy. you can always pass it on to one of your daughters... or just keep it for yourself, and let any of them borrow it. i think any age can rock MC. and of course, there's always the option of selling it for a profit.

..So did you buy it?? I am dying to know? One more thing-- check the canvas carefully to make sure that it is not yellowing or turning pinkish in splotches. You can't clean those stains, and they are a latent defect with some white multicolor pieces. Just be careful! Good luck!!

Well - I went back and looked at it really carefully after reading the other posts about yellowing (they were holding it for me today) and I did notice a little yellowing, especially on the front pocket part - so I didn't buy it. I wonder why that happened - it clearly hadn't been used much (the vachetta was really pretty) - date code was a 2005 date code. It's a pretty bag but somehow when I got it in bright light (they let me step outside with it), it just looked a little dingy (kind of yellowish creamy) - still really pretty - but not that white white - almost like an Izod shirt that needs bleach if you know what I mean - so I didn't get it. I think they won't have any trouble selling it because it was a good price, but I wouldn't have wanted to buy it and sell it to another PF member (and I wouldn't have asked for anything extra above shipping) and then have them be unhappy because it was kind of yellowish.

I guess what they always says is true, you know - the "if it's too good to be true . . ." It was only just the tiniest bit dingy - but I was worried it would get worse. I couldn't believe it too - when I went back in - they had it marked as being held but it was in the window with the full sun shining on it all day - I told them they might not want to do that. Imagine - Carolina hot sun just streaming in on the multicolor canvas and vachetta. Unbelievable!

I'm glad I thought about it overnight - instead of scooping it up last night before closing - I might have been sorry today.

Well --- always good to think things over instead of doing impulse buying. In your case, you did good!! I wonder if a new MC Speedy bought from a boutique now will have the same yellowing pattern. This is my next bag I want to get, but I'm leery of this yellowing problem...
